Will Notre Dame fans have the same petulance towards Rees they showed to Kelly?

Rees is an alum after all and decided to take a better OC job, just like BK took a better head coaching job.

It should be worse since Bama is universally hated. LSU, I would think is only regionally hated.

They will celebrate Rees leaving, as they should.

Rees wanted this job. You never get on a plane at these programs and make a lateral move. It had to be in the latter stages.

And no the University of Washington isn't one of those teams.

Probably not since losing position coaches and coordinators happens all the time, it's a much bigger deal to lose the HC, especially since they're never had one leave directly for another school in like a century.

na. if he does well at bama he'll have his pick of hc jobs in the future. can't blame him. tommy has over a decade in south bend between playing and coaching. he's just taking about the best spot available for a college oc.

Even that’s a stretch. You’d have to be in a specific SEC college town town to find people that just don’t like LSU.

I believe the majority of Notre Dame fans wanted to split from Rees.

LSU fans are known for being offended by anyone who doesn’t fawn over us.

No because he isn't the head coach.

True, but counterpoint- being universally hated is something Notre Dame fans want. It makes them feel relevant.

Losing someone to Alabama is probably something they'd grudgingly acknowledge as a good move. Their big issue with losing Kelly to LSU was that LSU, in their opinion, wasn't 'big enough' to do that. Nobody thinks that of Bama.

Plus, the first cold slap of reality is always the worst; Notre Dame could never get poached, neither could Oklahoma. They were destinations. Well, that's now been proven otherwise. It's just another kick, after the first big one to the nuts.

Like other posters have said, Notre Dame views itself as one of the elite programs in college football so they are probably feeling salty about their offensive coordinator getting jacked

To be fair kelly was universally hated when he was at ND I haven’t came across anyone who likes the guy when out of state and it comes up that I am an LSU fan.

Reading the Reddit thread they still salty on BK. Hoping Rees does well so Alabama beats LSU to stick it to BK.
