Will national sports pollsters respect UCF now or has nothing changed?

Beat the dog out of (a DOWN Stanford program) at home. Can't change their conference schedule rn, but they went out & got a big time P5 opponent.

What say you?

I think UCF was already considered above a down (compared to normal) Stanford team.

So, that win doesn't change anything at all.

No

But CFB and the playoff format is broken. When 75% of the 130 teams in CFB have zero chance of making the playoffs going INTO the season, it’s broken.

They got their arse whipped against an LSU team that was barely able to field a defense.

No they don’t deserve the respect.

That was last season. What’s the point of UCF even suiting up if they are disqualified from the CFP before the season starts?

Hence lies the problem of the current system.

Does that one guy still post here that's always trying to hype them up? He always made me laugh trying to imagine what it's like to thing UCF is relevant,

They play no Top 40 opponents all year. The highest rated team on their schedule is Pittsburgh, #45 in FPI and #42 in Sagarin. Highest rated conference opponent is Tulane(#45 in Sagarin, #55 in FPI)

Stanford is projected to go 5-7 in FPI so its not like it was that big of a win.

Then they shouldn't have agreed to that system and should relinquish dat NY6 bowl money if they really have a problem.

I've always been an advocate of an FCS style playoff system, but until then we have what we have and UCF does not meet the criteria of a Top 4 team. And won't this year - no Top 40 teams on the schedule.

The only teams in the Top 60(according to Sagarin) are Pitt, Tulane, Stanford, and Houston.

They beat a team ranked below them. That isn’t impressive. A few spots below them okay. A few spots below them and on the road, better. Schedule Clemson, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia. But Stanford is not exactly football power house.

You really believe that 75% of the teams in CFB have the ability to reach the play-off. Because realistically there are only about 10-12 teams every year worthy or capable of winning it all.

LSU didn't dominate that game by any means. UCF put up a good fight. And while LSU was shorthanded on defense, don't forget that UCF's star QB had his knee completely destroyed in their regular season finale, so they weren't exactly at full strength either.

To play football, win games, and go to a good bowl game.

You’re advocating that no team suit up if they don’t have a realistic shot at the playoffs?

Go on the road and play whatever ranked team will play you without a return visit. If UCF is as good as advertised they should be able to get that done easily.
