Wilder’s KO over the weekend is one of the most ridiculous I’ve ever seen

His back was against the ropes, feet parallel, no full extension or body weight behind the punch and he almost killed the guy.

I mean the ropes themselves provide some leverage. The video is slowed down so you can’t appreciate the bounce back.

Listen to it live. There is a very audible thud on contact. I 100% understand why some people think it looked sketchy though

Definitely didn’t wear the heavy costume for the walk to the ring.

Should’ve taken Floyd up on his offer to train him. If he’d learn how to box he and Fury would be epic.

Wilder has the hand of God. If he connects with that right hand anywhere on your head, it’s night night time.

Yep. He bounced off the ropes when throwing that punch.

Sounded like a baseball bat hitting a hanging rug.

Fury and Wilder WAS epic but I get your point.

Wilder is so unique because there's never been a guy so flawed who reaches such a high level because there is frickin death on the end of his right hand. His boxing skills and footwork are comparable to what you'd find at preteen amateur level, his chin is nothing special as he's been wobbled with regularity, but he can erase giants 50lbs heavier than him with one punch. There's never been anything like this. Not Shavers, Liston, Lyle, even Foreman--all those guys did at least one other boxing thing that made them dangerous besides just wielding that erasure. I don't know what's next for Wilder--Ruiz, Joshua, Usyk but I wanna see as much as he'll give us.

Oh, you’re an MMA guy, I got you. Joe Rogan...

"It’s absolutely f**king amazing the power that @bronzebomber can generate. He’s truly unlike anyone I’ve ever seen in the history of the heavyweight division. You can make no mistakes with this man. There have been many incredible KO artists in the history of boxing, but for my money he’s the most impressive. If you look at this punch it wasn’t even with full leverage and his opponent instantly shuts off. It’s what the great @firas_zahabi calls “the touch of death.”

Tyson was definitely a middle of the ring, all technique and leverage, compact guy. I’ve seen Roy do something similar where he dropped guys with his back against the ropes but he didn’t send them to the upper room like Wilder.

His right hand has no comparison.

I did. Deontay has more power in that right hand than Tyson did, but he's hyperspecialized to a point that a legendarily complete boxer like Tyson would wreck him.

Deontay would look for openings Tyson would never give him to land that obliterator. Wilder has no inside game and Tyson would be on him like stink on shite. Tyson would thunder combos until Wilder is out cold. Tyson wins unless Wilder gets extremely lucky.

Now Fury would be a far better matchup.

Tyson had a LOT of problems with bigger guys who weren't terrified of him.

On the downside of his career… yes.
