Seems like there’s a lot of Alabama fans defending Wilder. Hmm, I wonder why? Mike Tyson undoubtedly wrecks Wilder. It wouldn’t even be close. Again, he struggled against a 38-year old that certainly has nowhere near the head movement and hand speed that Tyson had during his prime. If you’re going to try and argue that you clearly know nothing about boxing. Or sure keep believing Wilder would beat him lol.

For those trying to say Comparing eras is pointless here. You’re wrong. Those boxers were better conditioned vs the 12-round caps of today. Joe Frazier was able to box a full 15-rounds throwing far more punches than these guys today. Larry Holmes would have schooled Wilder with his jab. Tyson though without doubt wins. Wilder’s performance against Ortiz solidified it.

And Anthony Joshua isn't gonna come into the ring 38 (or older) and out of shape.

Joshua has been out of shape for a while now. He tries to fight wilder at 235-240 and he’ll get his head knocked off. Wilder is quicker than him as it is, and more powerful at a lighter size. Why Joshua thinks the added mass helps him I don’t understand.

shite, can you imagine if he was from NOLA or BR?

This board would be insufferable. He'd have 11 different nicknames, 2 parade floats, 5 baby mamas, and 8 posters with some variation of his name in their login. And they'd all swear he's the greatest.

I dont see any Wilder fans claiming he's some GOAT level fighter. We just thing he's good, he's earned a big fight, and he's fun to watch.

Wilder fights reckless he will be open to all kind of counter punches.

Wut

If anything, he's too muscular...which is why he runs out of gas. But he's not out of shape.

Come on man.

Yup. To call AJ out of shape is so ridiculous its not even worth replying to.

To play devils advocate, there is a difference in being in shape and being in boxing shape.

A big muscular guy might not necessarily have the endurance to last 12-15.

But I don't know if that is the case with Joshua. But it's probably Fury's point. Nobody is claiming he's got a sloppy physique.

It's just a wording thing. Most people refer to what you are saying as "over trained" in Boxing, not out of shape. Out of shape refers to a fighter who is either over weight or has a "soft" build.

What I meant was he isn’t in optimum shape. His cardio and speed gives way with the added bulk. 225-230 is probably the optimum weight for AJ.

I agree he came in too muscular and heavy vs Vladimir. I think 240 is solid.
