Why don't more people appreciate the 2018 Rockets?
They went 65-17 during the regular season which is impressive in of itself. However, they were 42-3 with CP3, Harden, and Capela healthy, which extrapolates to a staggering 77-5 record over an 82-game season. They (along with the 2019 Rockets) are the only team so far to truly push the unfair KD Warriors in a series. They would no doubt crush the 73-9 Warriors, the best version of the Warriors before Bob Myers committed the ultimate basketball sin. They were one of the greatest teams of all-time, and definitely the best team to not win the title.

PS: I'm a Pelicans fan, by the way.

If you could only hang a banner for that, Morey would.

They don't get more love for the same reason people don't claim LeBron technically has six rings. You still have to win on the court, not say the Warriors were incredible, so you deserve credit for a L.

Great team but one that relied too heavily on CP3 which ended up biting them. If the Rockets had him the whole series they very likely win the 'ship. If Golden State still has Iggy late in the WCF, it's still unlikely they win. Rockets are oddly better against GS when Durant is playing, and they were clearly a few steps down this year compared to 2018.

Let's look just in the state of Texas. The '11, '13, '16, and '17 spurs were better than the '18 Rockets.

The '06 Mavs were better too.

Meh. They played good defense and rebounded better which were the main factors lacking in this year's squad.
