Why do announcers say "the road to the super bowl goes through #1 seed?"
Posted by PeteRose on 1/18/22 at 11:17 am077
I heard the announcer said "The road to the Super Bowl goes through Green Bay" one week. That's only correct if Green Bay wins the Divisional game and hosts the conference title game. If SF beats GB and LA/TB beats SF, then these teams never stepped their foot in GB. In fact, if TB beat LA and then beat SF, Bucs never really went anywhere.

It applies for any team that hosts a playoff game… like Tampa Bay this week. They’re not the 1 seed but them and the Rams’ road to the Super Bowl goes through Tampa Bay

JB's OP's are always like a maximum of four words.

because you have to beat them to get in.
as far as all the BS they say all the time, they have a script they read, its that simple, and they all do it, not just the playoffs
you watch the game and announcer raves about the amazing moves the RB did to shift and juke his way around guys to get the first down, then you watch the replay to see these amazing unbelievable moves he did, and the guy just runs in a straight line while making no moves at all. its funny as hell when you start paying attention to it.

The road to the super bowl goes thru Beijing, where Tom Brady’s mechanical body was manufactured 44 years ago.

Well we know that's a lie because if it was, it would have broken 43 years ago.

Great thread. I've always really hated how every announcer has to force that phrase into their broadcast

theoretically thats the road to get there
No it’s not.
It’s possible, in theory GB loses their first game and a team from the other branch goes to the SB without ever playing Green Bay
