Why aren't announcers sitting courtside?

This is just dumb. Most of the CBB games all the announcers are at home doing the games. I mean, really? It makes no sense.

The only thing missing is them wearing a mask inside their home when the camera shows them

I’m not someone who cares. Why do we need basketball announcers there? There are almost no fans to create atmosphere anyway

This. ESPN had started having guys call some lower level games from Bristol before the pandemic.

I wonder about their feed, do they have some kind of better internet connection for games, something dedicated? My feed is usually about 1 minute behind the game.

Some of these games must be filmed on a iPhone 7. Grainy garbage is hard to watch and there are like 2 maybe 3 camera angles.

It really does take away from the broadcast. Last nights LSU was a prime example. They have no communication with the scoring table therefore have no clue what is going on at times.
