Fair enough, was being technical not tryna be a smartass, no disrespect to those reppin the 516. In a weird way, I kinda identified teams situated technically on the island in Brooklyn and Queens with the Long Island vibe as they aren’t the Yankees, Knicks, and Giants next to the Nets with Dr. J and Islanders of course.

Yea well they aren’t, and no one here calls them LI
Queens and Brooklyn are NYC
And they are far more different vibe in those two boroughs than LI

Giants
They’re actually not NYC at all, they play in NJ (as do the jets)

Damn, Islanders must take that distinction between those respective areas seriously and I get it, I retained more a vibe that Brooklyn/Queens were kindred spirits with Nassau/Suffolk for a couple of reasons
1. location, same geographic island, plays a big role in my perception of how those areas relate to the other, not mainland NYC
2. Sports teams, both areas of the geographic island consist of pro sports teams many in the sports world consider the "little brother" to the mainland NYC teams like Yankees, Knicks, Rangers, Giants (when they played in NYC), represents a very blue collar, lunchpale vibe reflected by the cultures of those respective areas

True, I meant when both actually played football in the state comprising their name

Yea it’s not even close
Don’t say that to either of the people from there either

Yea literally the only thing

The Yankees play in the Bronx, that is probably the most bluest collar borough of them all
And probably the only borough that is still really not gentrified
Queens is still blue collar but has gentrified greatly with white collar areas (LIC and Astoria)
Brooklyn is not at all, and certainly not when a large amount of the most expensive neighborhoods in all of NYC are in Brooklyn
And I wouldn’t call all of LI BlueCollar either, you got all of the expensive beaches out in the Hamptons, expensive towns close to NYC that are full of Wall Street money etc.
To sum it up Queens and BK are part of New York City, not LI.
And neither of its inhabitants will say they are part of LI, and if you do you will be told to GTFO
