Well what does that say about ULL then? Y'all are probably LA's equivalent to UCF.
I was accepted by LSU, but pursued degrees from both UL and LaTech that were not offered by LSU.

I know I'm in the minority among my fellow alums, but I never understood or agreed that changing from USL was a good decision. I know all of the arguments for why it was done but I am still not convinced it was necessary. I can't speak as to how it has helped on the academic end to be perceived as 'less regional' when trying to attract better professors and students. However, the success we are seeing athletically is a product of finally deciding to increase coaching salaries to the level that we can hire better coaches. If the university had made the financial commitment to be serious about growing athletics 30 years ago, the name USL would not have held us back. Way too many Cajun fans rather complain about LSU keeping us down! What we should have been doing all along was find out what other successful schools, like LSU among others, were doing well and try to incorporate those ideas at our university. I wish this whole name thing could just stop and those of us who love our school would be content to enjoy the good times we are having in several sports recently and hope for it to get better in the years to come.

Can't see how anyone would disagree with that.

The stigma must really sting. I can tell it hurts, but that's okay ... I'm sure the raw sugar cane mills can use plenty of ULL "engineers"

* Perhaps the biggest winner was the New Orleans Bowl, which finished 12th in attendance (54,728) with a very regional matchup of Tulane vs. Louisiana-Lafayette. The New Orleans drew more fans than several traditionally higher-drawing bowls, such as the Outback, Holiday and Music City.
Louisiana whatever, we support our teams.

The stigma of being a 'STATE' university must really really sting. I can tell it hurts, but that's Okay...I'm sure the towns around Baton Rouge can use plenty of LSUA&M 'engineers' to design the ditches.

lsu uses 'GEAUX' at every turn, yet totally looks down at the french/cajun aspect of this state. Just part of what makes you guys total scum bags. But just part....

Was rooting for my Lady Tigers till they blew it. At least we still got a pony in the race with "Louisiana's Own" Ragin Cajun's in the upcoming Super Regional's. "Louisiana" Proud
Any self respecting Louisianan who would be mad about that needs to go back to playing video games.
