Who will be the next collegiate coach to succeed in the NFL?
Posted by Forkbeard3777 on 8/16/14 at 8:17 pm00
Much like Pete Carrol and Chip Kelly, who will be the next college coach to rise up to the NFL and have bona fide success?
Gus Malzahn?
Charlie Strong?
David Shaw?
Steve Sarkisian?
Kevin Sumlin?

I could see Sumlin having some success in the NFL
I could see Kliff Kingsbury having success as well, but he's not on your list.

Those are just some coaches I spouted out off the top of my head. Not a "firm" list by any means. Good call on Kingsbury.
Please, feel free to add more or create your own list.

Why is Chip on the same scale as Carroll? Chip won a weak NFC east. Pete has been dominating his division and won a Super Bowl.

He certainly isn't. But he did have success his first year and I think he'll continue. I mean, the Eagles were 4-12 when he took over. He installed a new offense with a new quarterback and went 10-6. It's safe to say the he had a successful season at Philadelphia.

I could see Mora giving it another shot, if another team shows interest in him

I think Shaw will be the "next" college coach to succeed in the NFL but Mora Jr. definitely could fit the mold of somebody that is really successful in the league after leaving and getting some more seasoning running the show at the collegiate level.

Shaw has gotten it done old school in the Pac-Xbox, and seems very leaderbean. I'd guess him, but root for as well.

Carroll was 7-9 his first 2 years in seattle.

Wtf has Sumlin done to remotely think he'd be a success in the NFL? I don't get the love for this guy at all.
