A player who is playing well right now, but 5 years from now will be a massive liability for the team he is playing for and a laughing stock

Candidates

Bellinger
Bregman
Yuli Gurriel
Pete Alonso
Schwarber
Machado
Rizzo
Harper

Well Yuli is 35

So his numbers may dip when he is 40

Bergman is going to get paid but I don’t see him turning into a Chris Davis.

Cardinals could be a player in this. Maybe a really shite deal for Ozuna. That Goldschmidt contract just misses the cut off, but it will be bad.

Bryce Harper won't be Chris Davis levels of bad, but I don't really see him exploding back to MVP form over 5 years.

I'm going to go with Aaron Judge. High strikeout players tend to age really poorly. Judge's career strikeout rate (31.2%) is virtually identical to Chris Davis' career strikeout rate (31.3%) before he received that huge contract from the Orioles. Plus the guy's missed 50+ games the last two years so durability issues are already starting to crop up with him. Judge will have a really fast and ugly decline.
