Major League Baseball is investigating White Sox pitcher Mike Clevinger following allegations of domestic abuse involving the mother of his 10-month-old daughter and child abuse. The investigation was first reported by The Athletic on Tuesday and was later confirmed by an MLB spokesperson.

Olivia Finestead, the 24-year-old mother of one of Clevinger’s children, has detailed to The Athletic and MLB's investigators allegations of physical, verbal and emotional abuse, which she also described in her personal Instagram stories. They involved an alleged incident from last June when Finestead said Clevinger choked her and another two weeks later when she said Clevinger slapped her in a hotel room.

Clevinger, 32, joined the White Sox via a one-year, $12 million free agent deal on Dec. 4, 2022. He is set to earn $8 million in 2023 and there’s a $12 million mutual option for ’24 with a $4 million buyout.

I dont care to find it right now but he's been a documented POS in relation to treatment of his child's mother in the past. Couple or 3 years back I remember reading something about it.

I remember when a certain segment of Braves fans wanted him.

Glad we didn't go that route.

Fiers will be tough to get. He’s constructed a massive subterranean rat den in some undisclosed location that he’s taken up permanent residence in.

The White Sox are such a stupid frick cheap arse organization. Couldn’t even muster up a QO for homegrown Carlos Rodon a few years ago. Fixed Johnny Cueto and then let him walk and now this.

Reinsdorf should thank his lucky stars for MJ because without him, he’d be considered one of the worst commissioners in North American professional sports.

Also on another note, frick MLB and the PA for not letting the White Sox know before he was signed. Apparently baseball has known about this for over a year.

Not only could they not pony one up for Rodon, they did pony one up for Craig Kimbrel. Who won the world choose Kimbrel over Rodon? Rick Hahn, the worst GM in baseballl.

What if she's just a gold digging whore who made up these accusations out of thin air because she's a psycho and wants to get rich? Seems to happen all the time with athletes. He's innocent as far as I'm concerned, unless proven otherwise.

Stop hitting people. It really shouldn't be that difficult.

Sounds like Clevinger has multiple baby mommas, including one who is 8 years younger than him. Great decision making, Mike.

This is what pissed me off. The report said MLB investigators have been on this situation since last summer.
Clevinger was signed the first day of the Winter Meetings. So no one with MLB felt it necessary to inform the Sox, or any other club ahead of time?
