Pac-12 Champion 12-1 Washington
Big 12 Champion 12-1 OU (avenges loss in Big 12 title game)
Big 10 Champion 12-1 Ohio State
Sec Champion 13-0 Georgia
Notre Dame 11-1 (only loss to Georgia)
Bama 12-1 (only loss in close SEC championship game)

1-Georgia
2-Notre Dame
3 OU
4 OSU

If Bama wins the SEC in a close game against Georgia
1. Bama
2. Georgia
3. Notre Dame
4. OU

I think Washington is left out under all scenarios and Bama gets left out if don't win the SEC outright. Georgia has a much better case of getting in with one loss because of the win against ND. Bama doesn't have a quality win OOC. Will be interesting.

Might as well throw in 12-1 Clemson too

Damn I forgot all about the ACC. What would Clemson's marquee win be this season?

ETA: I don't see Clemson being in at 12-1 with the above scenario.

That's BS, though espn is trying to build that narrative. FSU was highly ranked and lost their qb. No legit reason to think that isn't a quality win.

If they lose by one in SEC championship, that will make things interesting.

I would think OSU would get left out and Washington based on the perceived strengths of their conferences. ND is getting a lot of love for the playoffs and if they run the table, I think the committee will eat some dissonance and have them in there.

They have subsequently completely fell apart. If FSU can't get bowl eligible--lost quarterback or not--it wasn't a quality win.

ND better hopes Georgia beats Bama in the SEC Championship game. ND would have a better resume than Bama. IF ND jumps Georia at 12-1 with a close loss in the SECCG I will have huge problem with the committee.

If both sec teams are undefeated at the title game they are both getting in.

If Georgia loses, they’re only loss would be to the team who has been #1 all year, and they’d have the best win in @ND

If bama loses they’d have only lost to the #1 team in UGA

Under your scenario I think it would be
1. Uga
2. Slowhio
3. ND
4. Bama

No it isn't.

"A quality win" doesn't lose 35-3 to Boston College, regardless of the quarterback.

Be ready to be disappointed if that happens. They'll need a few teams to lose.

there is no way the committee takes 12-1 Ohio state over 12-1 OU. With OU beating them on the road.

Maybe, maybe not.

I agree with both your predictions except think they might flip flop ND and OU in the second scenario to avoid a UGA-ND rematch in the semis. (I'm also assuming in this scenario Clemson drops another game, because I think they're almost certainly in if they win out.)

I would agree with this.

Washington needs to win out plus needs a little help

The playoff committee has never taken 2 teams from the same conference, so I see Alabama getting left out. Their bottom 3 OOC is Mercer, Fresno State, and Colorado State. That is as bad or worse than Wisconsin's or Washington's. Florida State was essentially their 9th conference games (like most conferences). Plus the SEC is pretty down this year.

I remember a dark time in my life when a 1 loss team (whose name shall not be said) didn't even play in the sec championship game and still played in the national championship game.

Uga
ND
OU
Bama

This is assuming if Clemson drops another game. If they win out, they will be in over Bama in this case. But if they lose, I could see Bama being in over non-Clemson acc champ.

bullshite.

If Georgia is undefeated going into the SEC Championship Game and loses to Alabama, they will definitely be in over Notre Dame.

They beat them in South Bend and would have one more win.

The only way they would miss out is if they lose by 20+.
