Which QB are you taking to win a game in college - Jones or Tua?

Has to be Tua, right?

Honestly Jones (this years version) is cool as a cucumber and I find him to be tougher than Tua. Not that Tua wasn't great.

Mac Jones isn't flashy (in terms of overall athleticism) but he gets the job done. He gets the ball to his play makers. He is super accurate, smart and has a natural feel for the game. I actually found Mac read defenses a bit better pre snap than Tua but thats just me. Maybe an Alabama fan could chime in.

Oddly enough, give me Mac Jones. Kid is a winner and a warrior.

Jones has been basically flawless. What am I missing that y'all are seeing in putting him down? Tua was amazing, but he had some stinker games in his career (UGA, Clemson) Give me the guy that was essentially perfect as a starter. It's clear he processes information better than Tua. Might not have the athleticism or release, but the dude is nails.

Give me Mac

According to PFF, it might be Jones over any qb in history

He also throws an absurdly accurate deep ball.

He hasn't done anything wrong, but he doesn't do many things that wow you on the field.

He's consistent as hell, but you are almost shocked when he's completed 75% of his passes for 400 yards and 4-5 TDs. It doesn't feel like that's happening when you watch him play. You're almost more impressed by his surrounding cast.

Not sure it's easy to explain.

Jones never faced a single bit of adversity and very little pressure.
So I’m not sold on him.

And, has Jones ever had to win a game? I can’t think of one.

Yup. Jones is THAT damn smooth.

Max Johnson is cut from the same cloth. You'll learn to appreciate it.

To be honest, I never saw a throw to Devonta Smith where Smith wasn’t running WIDE arse OPEN. That seems to make life easier.

It is hard to judge Mac against any other year. Never had to face any challenge of crowd noise or road game environment. Had the best OL, RB, and WR in 2020 playing with him.

Yeah man, the guy only led an offense averaging a nation high 29.4 points in the 1H.

Only game Tua played bad I can remember is Georgia and Clemson

And he faced pressure in those games that Mac Jones has only had nightmares about, but never come close to seeing

That's because he hits them while that window is wide open. Those open windows close fast.

I can't recall a QB who gets rid of the ball as fast as Jones. And that helps the O-Line as much as it helps the WRs.
