Which NFL Draft had the worst QB class?

I think it is either 1996 or 2007. Both of them were quite horrid when you look at the numbers. 1996 which had no first round QBs and just two QBs taken in the first 3 rounds or 2007 which had 2 first round QBs who busted spectacularly?
1996
42nd pick - STL- Tony Banks - 77TDs, 73 Ints, 73 fumbles, 72.4 Rating, 35-43 record as a starter
85th pick - PHI - Bobby Hoying - 11 TDs, 15 INTs, 64.3 Rating, 3-9-1 record as a starter
100th pick - DEN - Jeff Lewis - no starts/out of the league by 2000 0 TDs, 2 INTs
130th pick - NYG - Danny Kanell - 31Tds, 34 Ints, 63.2 Rating, 10-13-1 record as a starter
203rd pick - PIT -Spence Fishcer - didn't make team
205th pick - IND - Mike Cawley - didn't make team, was a backup in CFL and XFL
238th pick - BAL - Jon Stark - never played/suspended from NFL for betting on games
240th pick - GB- Kyle Wachholtz- didn't make team
No QB taken until #42. Only 8 QBs were taken in the draft. Only 3 of them ever started an NFL game: Tony Banks, Bobby Hoying, and Danny Kanell. They would go a combined 48-65-2 as starters. 3/8 didn't make the team their rookie years. 2 of them made the team but never started including Stark who was basically banned from the NFL for gambling during his rookie season.
2007
1st pick - OAK - JaMarcus Russell - 18 TDs, 23 INTs, 25 fumbles, 65.2 rating, 7-18 record as a starter
22nd pick - CLE - Brady Quinn - 12 TDs, 17 INTs, 64.4 rating, 4-16 record as a starter
36th pick - PHI - Kevin Kolb - 28 TDs, 25 INts, 78.9 rating, 9-12 record as a starter
40th pick - MIA - John Beck - 3 TDs, 7 Ints, 10 fumbles, 67.6 rating, 0-7 record as a starter
43rd pick - DET - Drew Stanton - 20 TDs, 24 INTs, 66.3 rating, 11-6 record as a starter
92nd pick - BUF - Trent Edwards - 26 TDs, 30 INTs, 75.5 rating, 14-19 record as a starter
151st pick - CIN - Jeff Rowe - made team as rookie, never played
174th pick - BAL - Troy Smith - 8 TDs, 5 INTs, 9 fumbles, 78.5 rating, 4-4 record as a starter
205th pick - WAS - Jordan Palmer - 0 TDs, 2 INTs, 28.7 rating, never started a game
217th pick - MIN - Tyler Thigpen - 21 TDs, 18 INTs, 72.5 rating, 1-11 record as a starter
So a lot more "success" here overall, with every player making a roster. No QB started more than 33 career games. No pro-bowl appearances. Combined 50-93 record as starters. Possibly biggest bust in NFL history.
Is there another QB class that was worse than these two?

yeah, 2013 deserves to be in the conversation for sure. As well as 1997.

Just looked and you're right. Jake Plummer was the only one with any sort of NFL success at all

NO ONE and i mean NO ONE, not Brady, Manning, Montana, Marino, NO ONE threw a better 3rd and long, 3 yard out, into the sidelines, like Tony.
He made sure on 3rd and 8, that only you could catch that 3 yard out, and you couldn't get more than the 3 yards, as you tippy toed the line before falling out of bounds.
I bet his completion % rate on those 3rd and longs for 3-4 yards was in the 98's. Touchdown Tony, he's so missed.

Trent Edwards
Bills fans used to call him Trentative because he was so afraid to make mistakes. He even moved to Buffalo with his sister because he wasn't comfortable on his own.

Taking a QB in the first round doesn’t make him a first round talent but some GM’s think it’s a magical pill.

Christian Ponder was in the 2011 draft. That was the first draft with the new rookie salary cap rules and we were coming off of a holdout so a lot of teams over drafted QBs because of how relatively cheap their contracts were - Gabbert, Locker, and Ponder being among them. Hell even guys like Dalton, Mallet, and He Who Should Not Be Named, were drafted 2-3 rounds ahead of where they normally would have been because of the new contracts.
Oddly enough, the QB taken in that draft with the best chance to start a regular season game this year is the second to the last QB taken.

Yup I came here to say this. Of course that was the only year in Chiefs history we had the #1 pick.
It all worked out for the best though
