'99/'00 Pedro is the answer.

Yes, late '90s Kevin Brown was fantastic with that unhittable sinker. Pedro threw four, FOUR unhittable pitches! He was like a goddamn cheat code at his peak.

Give me the reigning MVP. He has 6 straight years of a sub 3 era. Last 2 years were sub 2 era. This will be his six straight season to get 200 k's. Dude has a 1.06 career whip.

I'd take 99/00 Pedro over anyone from 1890 to present.

Currently, I'd go Kershaw.

Depends on the lineup he's going against. Can't go wrong with Smoltz, Schilling, Johnson, Pedro, Maddux or a handful of other guys.

You proved my point. Smoltz is great but Schilling has better numbers across the board. Schilling was a catalyst on the Diamondbacks team that ended the Yankees dynasty. Schilling was the pitcher who battled through a ruptured ankle tendon to end the Red Sox 86 year WS drought. Schilling led the Phillies to an upset over the 104 win Braves and was the best pitcher in a series with Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz. And that is why Schilling is the best postseason starting pitcher in the last 40 years.

my point is Smoltz has 76 more IP in the postseason. Just makes his numbers for impressive.

Your numbers tend to stretch more when you throw more innings.

Just the way i see it.

Although Johnson, Pedro, etc are all great picks. I think Brown was just filthy and he rarely gave up much when on.
