Where does the Red River Rivalry rank amongst other rivalries
It's a unique in that its played at an old, historic, neutral site with the texas fair in the background. Also helps that OU and UT are major programs that are reliably good.

With that said, I cant help but feel like the 11 AM start holds it back a little bit

It's honestly one of my favorites. I make sure to watch it every year. I love how you can see the divide in the stadium between the fans too with the orange and red. And when it's a blowout half the stadium disappears and one color is left on half the stadium lol

It’s very clearly right up there with the Iron Bowl and Michigan v. Ohio State.

There are a few to me that are below those three but still tremendous rivalries:
Cocktail Party
Washington v. Oregon (these two teams hate the ever living frick out of one another)
Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry
Army/Navy

I don't disagree with you about early starts -- I definitely need more drinking time before kickoff -- but this is intentional from FOX. CBS has the 2:30 pm slot and ESPN/ABC has 7:00 pm. FOX's strategy this year was to put a prime game at 11:00 am. Since most of the early games are not big matchups, they saw it as an opportunity for a "prime-time" game in the early slot.

The Iron Bowl isn’t

Growing up nobody cared about it. It was an instate thing.

The Territoral Cup and UNM NMSU along with Holy War are Iron Bowls basically until 2010

They really are instate things that have hate but don’t effect much outside

for the longest time it wasn't even each team's biggest rival

OU/NEB & UT/A&M > Red River Rivalry

re: Where does the Red River Rivalry rank amongst other rivalries
Wrong. OU Texas was always bigger than OU Nebraska.

aTm held the rivalry higher than Texas did, but it was a conference game.

The OU Texas was an annual non con game. That’s how big it was.
