On pure ability and achievement, he’s closing in on top tier. Is he a guy that will have a lasting impact on the game like Dirk?

1. Hakeem
2. Giannis
3. Dirk

If he wins a ring he'll move into the top 3 but not sure who I'd take out yet.

ETA: If you downvote, state your case! The three I mentioned led their team to a championship, won finals MVP and have a league MVP. He's not ahead of any of those three for now. If he wins, he'll have the best case to move past Dirk since Dirk only won league MVP once.

Fourth behind Dirk, Giannis, and Hakeem at the moment imo but with the potential to be number 1.

Shaq was born in Germany but on a base so guess that does not count.
Pollard is top 5. Also Yao.

Who would be the top tier besides Dirk and Hakeem? Embiid is in tier 1 as well, but I would have Jokic over him. Eta: Giannis over Jokic

He’s certainly above Yao, Sabonis, and any of the really talented 90s Croatians.

And above Luka as well.

Shaq is born in New Jersey. And no one considers someone like Kyrie to be Australian.

Duncan isn’t born in a state but not including him as an American, are we removing guys born in DC, too?

Good list. Gasol bros are notable omissions.

FWIW - I think Yao had the biggest cultural impact, followed by Drazen, but he maybe a guy more famous in death. Dirk changed the game more than anyone IMO. As far as the best, I’m thinking Hakeem.

Currently, Giannis and Joker are the leaders I think. Luka has a chance to get to that elite level.

Of course, Gasols are a good call.

I might put Pao at the end of tier 1 and Marc right below Parker.

Duncan was born in an unincorporated territory of the United States Virgin Islands.

If you consider that to be foreign, then he’s number one by a country mile.
