mostly black people wearing Alabama gear in LA. Florida state and Miami fits the bill as well.

Maybe it’s something personal against LSU. Miami I can see, but Alabama is a Deep South state and not the most open-minded

There's nothing more embarrassing as a native Baton Rouge friend that's an Alabama fan.

With the exception of people who have some sort of tie to the University (alumni or related to alumni) I have to agree with this. I think we all know why the BR folks that don’t fit into this criteria would root for Bama.

BR isn’t that big. New Orleans or Nashville, sure, but not a college town like BR.

When you take the entire metro area into account it really isn't that much smaller than NOLA

Are there still a lot of transplants from NOLA living in Baton Rouge? I could see that being part of it.

Baton Rouge is the state’s capital, not a college town. Gainesville, Athens, Auburn, Clemson...those are college towns

Tallahassee and Austin are also their respective state’s capitals. I see majority FSU fans and Texas fans respectively.

I’m in Baton Rouge and the janitor at work and a few other people in the workforce always sport Alabama stuff and give me shite about wearing an LSU polo every once in a while. I’m like bitch do you know where you are? I always wonder what year they graduated from bama.

But those are all within 3-4 hour drive. Those are regional schools. Alabama is over 5 hours away and an SEC foe.

The state of Alabama isn't 5 hours away.

There are a shite load of Catholics in a Louisiana

So you just spend all your time in every college metro area and survey the fan ship landscape?

Mobile is close to Slidell, I get that. I’m referring to Tuscaloosa.

The amount of Alabama "fans" in Louisiana nowadays is nauseating.

This is so true: I chalk it up to band wagoners and people that claim to love the villain so they am be different.

Not relative to American big cities but it is relative to SEC towns. But there's plenty of Louisianians bandwagoning on Bama just to be front runners.

1.2 vs 800k is a pretty significant difference in size IMO

Being a bandwagon fan of a team that’s in the national championship almost every year is very easy. These people who put script A’s all over their personal possessions but have never stepped foot on campus need a winner to feel better about themselves and add value to their lives.

Fixed

Most Louisiana people I see with As on their vehicles are trashy looking fricks in some POS car or truck.
