This SI article seems to imply it is related to no charges in the Jacob Blake incident.

After how he wanted no one to play in the bubble that's not surprising.

It's unknown at this time why Irving is out and was unresponsive to his head coach, as of Thursday evening; however, the events of the last 48 hours could have played a factor.

On Jan. 5, the Kenosha County (Wisc.) district attorney decided not to prosecute the police officer who shot Jacob Blake, leaving him paralyzed. The shooting occurred on Aug. 23, 2020, three months after George Floyd died while being violently restrained by police officers in Minneapolis.

That is quite the leap from the person who wrote that article

At least he's missing the horrible attempt at fake crowd noise tonight in the nets game. It's the worst fake noise so far.

Don’t play and try not to fall off the edge of the flat earth while you’re crying those fake tears.

I genuinely think Kyrie Irving hates playing in the NBA.

Must be nice to refuse to show up to your multi million dollar job and cite social justice as a reason for ignoring your boss’s calls

So uh

Nash said he doesn’t know what his personal issue is, and he attempted to contact Kyrie, and Kyrie didn’t respond.
