The big 12 is absorbing pac schools or vice versa

Only way they move is if they go down to FCS in football.

Then they would move back to the Big East.

Don't think any P5 conference wants them because their football is suspect.

I wouldn't say its suspect, but their football might be doomed to be average forever.

The pac 12 network has bombed completely and schools like USC and UCLA are not happy. I think in a perfect world UT and OU would rather leave schools like Baylor and Kansas and ISU behind to go out west but right now the pac 12 is in just as shitty a place as the big 12 and it wouldn't surprise me to see something happen there

Either way, UCLA, USC, OU, and UT will likely be conference members within the next decade which will be fun

OU and OSU to the SEC for a 16-team SuperConference

Chaos ensues

The Pac 12 absorbs the Texas schools.

Kansas, and either K State or Iowa State go to the B1G

ACC scrambles for Memphis, Cincinnati and (I don't know) UConn?

At the least, Kansas and Iowa State are AAU members. Kansas State is not.

Georgia Tech has been a name tossed around for the last couple years.

In your scenario, UCF and USF would be a natural fit for the ACC

this whole thing confuses me though.

The Big Ten picked up f'n rutgers. RUTGERS...
Just to get the Market.

Uconn's market must be that nonexistent.

Big East just needs to have a one time exception and let em play in the big east for basketball.
Everyone wants to see those games again.

The ACC was a little shaky a few years ago, but seems pretty solid now (FSU and Clemson NCs, Notre Dame affiliation & ACC Network deal).

The Big 12 and PAC 12 have the most uncertainty going forward. The PAC has a little better history, depth, markets etc...

The Big 12's grant of rights (i.e. media broadcast $$ sharing) ends around 2023. So, the fireworks should be begin two summers from now.

Big Ten and SEC could possibly expand to 16 for the right fits --> new markets, high profile programs, academics

Seriously, what’s with them not reaching a deal with Directv?

Yeah the ACC was considered the odd one out in the late 2000s,but they have solidified their position now.

First will be the Big 12 expanding. That's the first logical step because they know that eventually they are going to lose members to other P5 conferences, so the Big 12 has to get out in front of that purge...if they want to remain a conference at all. Regardless of how they feel about the schools out there, they will be forced to add from the following Universities:

Colorado State - Have made a huge investment in their athletics. Gets the Big 12 back in the Denver market.
Cincinnati - Big school, decent following, talent rich area that expands the Big 12 footprint

BYU
Houston
Boise St
Memphis
New Mexico

The Big Ten would love to add Virginia and UNC. I think the SEC and B1G should work together to get the best fo what's left from the ACC and Big 12.

North Texas and the Florida twins (FIU/FAU) have been horrendous adds for Conference USA, all while WKU, Middle Tennessee and LA Tech have been home run adds
i would argue that this has more to do with CUSA being irrelevant

whom i really feel for is Southern Miss and maybe UAB... they belong on the AAC level with Memphis and Tulane

The UNC dynamic is fascinating. If they left for the B1G, it would be wild because no one expects the UNC-Duke-NCSU trio to split up. But if they do, NC State would perhaps be attractive to the SEC while Duke would have to hang tight in the ACC.
