Says the guy who says the number 1 defense in football has holes all over it.
the dolphins have a 10-5 record against the #30 (currently up from 32 last week) strength of schedule, their defensive rankings have every bit as much to do with the awful schedule they have played, the preponderence of shitty QBs and offenses and having good young talent with excellent coaching
DL, FS, speed at LB and Edge depth are needs, sorry you dont see that

So again you know nothing about football. Great.
you are one that said after QB, a blindside OT is the most important position on the field. every team is looking for impact edge or interior rush guys and paying a premium for them, but you believe OT is more important. outstanding analysis there
an OT can lose a game for you, but they cant win one. a guy that can win one on one and put pressure on the QB can win a game for you, that will ALWAYS be more valuable. always

with three top QBs and an elite OT there will trade partners for #3
massive trade ups are very rare for actual NFL teams and a much more common option on message boards and talk shows
that move would be EXPENSIVE
the problem is that there aren't any super elite DL/edge guys. so you have to reach for that or a TE like Pitts, which is worse than having a RT move to guard. the only other "need" option is a WR, but there are tons available this year (like most years recently) and Chase isn't that kind of stud/freak
sure, if a magical trade down opportunity is there, it's worth it. those just don't happen that often

looking at MIA roster, here is an amazing stat.
the dolphins have ONE guy on the 53 man over 30yr/o - Fitzmagic at 38
three guys at 29y/o
that is amazing

sure but the most obvious partners are not really big moves
CAR, CIN, DET (if they trade Stafford) , SF (if they trade Gar)
those teams would be watching ATL at 4, looking to see if ATL trades down, knowing MIA at 3 is open for business
WFT would be a big jump from 19 for a trade partner but they may have the biggest need to move up for QB

When was the last time a top 5 drafted QB won the super bowl for the team that drafted them? I’ll give you Eli Manning given the situation.
I don’t see the benefit in drafting these guys to play for teams that can’t support them. I’d much rather build a team and get a guy later in the draft that can do the job. It isn’t as flashy, but the proof is in the pudding. Building a team around a QB isn’t as successful (wind wise) as building a team then getting a QB.
If you’re after jersey and ticket sales in the short term draft your QB. But don’t come crying when you can’t win shite.

they have already revamped their OL,
Because a o-line is only 3 players and rookies always improve into their second season.

would be expensive at #3
You do realize they only have this pick because a team valued a top 10ish OT so much right?
quote:
get the OT value piece, if they had not already drafted OT Jackson, extended RT Davis, drafted OT Hunt, signed G Flowers then Sewell is a no braine
Davis has been trash and Hunt is a guard who moved to tackle out of necessity. It’s ironic that you mention Flowers at Guard when that’s his third offensive line position.
The Dolphins o-line has consistently been graded at the bottom 4th of the league so clearly they are not done “revamping their oline”.
QB is the most important position in football, but offensive line is arguably the most important UNIT in football.

Sewell if available if not I’m trading to get more draft picks and then either going chase/smith or defense
I know pitts is highly regarded but gesiecki finally stated coming into form this year and TE is a crap shoot

Depending on how free agency goes, the ideal early draft for the Dolphins would be:
Sewell at 3
Pitts with their own pick
Moore/Toney/Moore with the 35th pick
Sewell at 3
Pitts with their own pick
Moore/Toney/Moore with the 35th pick

looks like the #1 defense in the league had an off day yesterday and finished 6th against the #28 strength of schedule
their record against teams with winning/.500 records was 2-4 with a 33ppg against and a 28ppg for averages
ouch, didnt see that one coming for a defense with no holes in it
I guess LT may not be the best value for #3 afterall
after yesterday the glaring defensive weaknesses I saw is rush DE for the 4-3 and FS
I think QB at #3 makes a lot of sense if they arent sure about Tua, maybe Rousseau on a gamble or otherwise trade down if possible and stockpile even more picks

I think Sewell makes sense. However, I could easily see them fall in love with Fields or Wilson.

Hope a QB frenzy happens and move down to take a play maker at WR.

Pitts is going to be an unstoppable hype train leading up to the draft. Drafting a TE in the early 1st round is a precarious move tho - can’t think of the last time it’s really worked out... there’s a lot more “meh” than “good” that’s for damn sure. Most of the elite TEs in the NFL have gone rounds 3-5 recently.
It just takes awhile to see the return on investment. TE is one of the most difficult positions to transition from college to NFL.

no way they take a TE #3? right?

And yet he has a higher QB rating than Burrow with a worse offensive supporting cast.
this didn't age well

I disagree with this..... IF you get with the right QB a good tight end can be a great asset.....

I don’t think that’s what he was saying he’s saying TE drafted high haven’t panned out. Kelce is a beast he was also a 3rd rounder

Flores is from the Belichik tree so he knows the value of quantity over quality in the draft.
This only works if you have the GOAT at QB
