I noticed they are 7-17. Did he inherit a mess?

Fred had literally one player return from last years team. And he was a bench guy that barely played. This offseason he essentially went out and found 8 street ball players to be the team this year. It’s going to take some time, but the teams been competitive lately.

He should have stayed in Ames, IA where he was the Mayor.

Bulls job probably paid way more than Iowa St. And he was good friends with the Bulls GM.

Well, he had to have made some poor career choices to end up in Nebraska.

My question is why did he ever take the Nebraska job in the first place? Surely he had better options available.

His Grandpa coached Nebraska. Born in Lincoln. One of the nicest arenas in the country. Fan support. Team is 7-17 and will be top 10 nationally in attendance. Nebraska has invested a ton the past decade into the program, maybe Fred wanted the chance to be the coach who took the program somewhere
