I think the whole "uncatchable ball" rule is bull shite. So basically a DB can mug a receiver but get bailed out if the ref feels the ball was thrown too high ? No, that's not fair. He shouldn't get let off the hook that easy.

NFL - the catch/no catch rule. I can honestly say I don't have a clue what is a catch anymore.

Illegal hands to the face -- if a player doesn't grab the facemask, what's he problem?

I would do away with automatic first downs from penalties. Just stick with the yardage. Doesn't make sense to me that a team could get bailed out of a 3rd and long for some BS illegal contact

Obviously, offensive players who tilt their heads down to increase the chances of a helmet to helmet penalty on the defense.

Defenders should be given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to this.

The chickenshit "targeting" penalty.

Yeah, the Panthers got temporarily bailed out on that 3rd or 4th and long with a 5 yard hands to the face call.

In a similar vein I don't care much for offsetting penalties. Especially when one is 15 yarder and the other is a 5 yarder.

Gotta say targeting in CFB. That rule is in place to prevent obviously malicious hits on defenseless players, but because of the wording of the rule it has resulted in well intended football plays being penalized with ejections and possible suspensions of key players.

Challenges: coach can challenge as much as he wants until he loses two. Can also challenge questionable fouls/missed fouls.

Uniforms: a team can wear something to raise awareness. Deangelo Williams with breast cancer awareness, William gay with violence awareness and Dallas Cowboys with supporting the fallen police officers. Ridiculous to fine them or say no to them for small details on their uniforms.

Agreed, the Panthers got bailed out of fourth and very long / ballgame because of that penalty. It was almost karma that the field goal was wide left.

1. CFB OT -- "We played 60m of FB, now let's play some baseball!"

2. Differentiate between degrees of penalties -- make some hands to the face inadvertent and five yards

Yup.

The game has evolved to where it's almost impossible to play in the secondary and has made the lives of receivers and quarterbacks ridiculously easy.

The one that requires LSU to run the toss dive for the first play of every game. Frick you, mandatory football rules.
