What expansion direction will the PAC 12 take?

Watching this championship game in Las Vegas, makes me think they should add UNLV.
I know their football program has been trash lately, but it’s a great market, great stadium and a great destination for fans.
Their football program would improve with the added money and P5 affiliation.
I also think they need to get in the central time zone, so maybe SMU. Gets them in Dallas.

They arent adding a “Christian” school
UNLV academics and athletics are bad

The new commissioner said when he was hired, that was no longer the case.
They recently considered TCU in the most recent expansion, but chose not to add anyone.

I think they should go after Texas and Oklahoma. Those two should certainly have second thoughts about joining the SEC.

Nobody gives a shite about SMU even in Dallas.

You sound like a jilted lover.

its about the same amount that give a shite about TCU when Texas, OU, and Okie Light aren't there to fill your stadium.

That is a grotesque understatement.

It's a very transient market. UNLV football is probably the 48th most popular sports team in Las Vegas.

No argument here, but how many San Jose State fans are traveling for road games?

Realistically we missed our shot with OU and OSU a few years ago.

Houston and TCU
But TCU is trending in the wrong direction. PAC won’t take Baylor, but an improved Texas Tech might do the trick.
Houston is an ascending Tier 1 research university in the fourth largest city in the country. Seems like a low-hanging fruit for the PAC of it wishes to expand to the Far East.

No way the PAC 12 takes a religious school like TCU.

When Texas and Oklahoma start get smoked in SEC, they will beg ESPN to let them go to PAC-12. Those 2 schools were added because ESPN is gonna pay them a lot of money to do so.
If anything, PAC-12 may stay put or form some kind of alliance with Big 10 since both think their schools are high academic institutions.

Based on what I’ve heard from alumni and read about the school, TCU is Christian in name but is pretty secular these days.

Dude their commish already said that’s no longer an issue. They almost took TCU and Houston THIS year.

TCU ain’t as religious as you’d think. It def ain’t Baylor.

The Big 12 could add San Diego St, Colorado State, Boise, UAB, FAU, Memphis, and USF and still be a decent league.

They won't add any schools that are good or they risk Riley running away again.

If anything some Texas schools.
One thing they aren't taking is BYU and Boise State...two idiotic suggestions banded about.
