You have got to admit they are fading fast this day in age and Alabama has only grew in terms of being known. Maybe ten fifteen years ago they were close but times are changing.
Plus add in they may have to change their mascot. That mascot is a part of their fame in my book. Knowing Notre Dame May never be dominant at football again also helps me believe they are done growing in fame.
Also, lol the number of Catholics are actually declining, including in the USA.
Just passed them in all-time wins. FWIW

Not true at all. The packers won 1 more title pre Super Bowl era. 3 more pre merger, 4 more overall. In truth, if we are using championships as a benchmark, the teams with the most overall rings are the Packers (13-4) and the Bears(9-9), followed closely by the Giants (8-13). Note that in appearances the order is flipped. 13-4 is amazing. There is a reason Green Bay is called Title Town.

I agree with those statements, I will say that 10 of UCLA’s 11 championships came under Wooden. And that run started in 1964 with 1962 being their first time in a final four.
But ultimately, UCLA and Kentucky have won the most and had the most finals appearances, followed closely by North Carolina. Kentucky and North Carolina over a longer period but that doesn’t invalidate UCLA’s period of dominance.

I understand your point, but I'd have to go with New York in terms of "fame."
I mean, this year the Eagles and the Patriots played in the Super Bowl, and the NFL allowed a 3-win team (or whatever the Giants' record is) upstage them both in a commercial.

USC has the most titles, but only one of them in the ESPN era. And they have been irrelevant for two decades now.
Nobody cared about or had even seen college baseball until ESPN got the rights to the CWS.

Lol, you're right. They probably only know of Notre Dame's greatness from the numerous movies made about the Fighting Irish. How many movies have they made about Bama? Does Forest Gump count?

I'm 28 and ND barely even enters my mind when thinking of CFB.
