What are the modern arguments for CFB being better than the NFL?
CFB vs. the NFL used to be a pretty common argument.

Most the old arguments for CFB are no longer true. Are there any still to be made?

I enjoy watching college football more. That's my argument.

There will be less once the college football playoff expands.

During Covid lockdown BS, they were the same but college and NFL crowds are so different and there is no pageantry in the NFL.

Easier to drink while watching CFB and have the next day to recover.

Is there any in college remaining? Certainly the band playing has been tossed aside for piped in trap music. Most teams wear new looks every season or every week. Plenty of rivalries are gone and the biggest games are played in NFL stadiums.

Personally I care a lot about LSU and don’t really have an NFL team. I imagine many just feel a much stronger connection to their favorite college team.

I also feel much stronger in my dislike for certain teams and I have more rooting interests. I care more about fantasy for the NFL rather than anything else.

Also quality issues are not as glaring in football as basketball.

In my opinion it’s more fun to watch a less polished and more unpredictable product on the field, and that goes for all college sports vs professional counterparts

There are none. The football skill/talent isn’t better.

However, there are traditions, rivalries, and passion that just isn’t present in NFL circles.

Also, most fans went to college. Different breed of people.

I guess if you just watch on TV there isn’t any and hasn’t really been an argument. However I enjoy going to college games a lot more than the NFL. Even though college is becoming very corporate it’s hard to beat tailgating on a Saturday

I still think attending college football in person at home games are wayyyy better than in person nfl games.

Visiting college towns are amazing. Visiting Charlotte, Cleveland, Tampa bay are meh.

CFB vs. NFL is similar to international soccer vs club soccer. Everybody who knows the sport of soccer will take you club soccer is a superior product in terms of overall quality. However, a lot of people enjoy watching international soccer more due to the pageantry and emotion and atmosphere in the games. Champions League has the highest level of play in the sport but I and a lot of other people prefer watching the World Cup and Euros over it. I just find the latter more entertaining to watch.

re: What are the modern arguments for CFB being better than the NFL?
I stopped watching NFL several years ago because the game was so over-officiated that it seems to kill the flow of the game.

And I like good defense. Sure it’s starting to be hard to find in CFB also but defense has been legislated out of the NFL so, for me, it was not fun to watch.

Seems like every good defensive play is immediately followed by a 15 yard flag.
