Some of mine are:

quote:

The only player in NBA history to be Defensive Player of the Year while averaging 30 points a game.... and Jordan actually averaged 35 points the year he did that

quote:

Only rookie to lead their team in Points, Rebounds, Assists, and Steals

quote:

Jordan won 6 rings...and in those six seasons he won rings, he missed 6 games combined

quote:

As a Chicago Bull, Jordan played in a total of 1,288 games, (regular season & playoffs combined), and he scored less than 10 points just once....and at least 60 points five times

quote:

In playoff games, Jordan scored more than 40 points 38 times in 178 appearances, or 21% of the time. The next closest player is Lebron James, who did it 27 times in 238 career playoff games, or just 11% of the times

quote:

Only 9 times has a player ever averaged over 40 PPG in a Playoff Series. Michael Jordan did it 5 times:

45.2 PPG in 1988 vs Cavs, (on 56% shooting)
45.0 PPG in 1992 vs Heat, (on 61% shooting)
43.7 PPG in 1986 vs Celtics, (on 51% shooting)
43.0 PPG in 1990 vs 76ers, (on 55% shooting)
41.0 PPG in 1993 vs Suns, (on 51% shooting)

quote:

0 NBA Finals Series losses

This stat is ridiculous

Why is he getting praised for losing in the conference finals? It’s as if losing in the conference finals is a bigger accomplishment than winning the conference finals and losing in the finals

It also overlooks that he never won a Finals...or really even a series as an underdog.

Look, I think MJ is incredible, and it matters that he performed to expectations and won when he should have. But people overrate his undefeated Finals record when he never should have lost.

Making the Finals 40% of the time during his career is definitely up there. Very impressive imo

The crazy thing about Jordan is that any time a player these days sets some crazy stat, the caveat is always “the first player to do it since Michael Jordan” or “so and so just accomplished X, and there are only X number of players on the list... those players are Michael Jordan, X and X.”

Jordan has so many unbelievable stat lines that he’s always in the mix whenever a player these days puts up some crazy numbers.

quote:

after losing three straight at some point early in the 1991 season, Jordan never again lost three straight in a Bulls uniform. The odds of someone accomplishing something like that is almost impossible

quote:

Jordan's all-around dominance in his 69(nooice)-18-6-4 game against the Cavs where he achieved a 62% true shooting % and submitted his typically amazing defense in a Bulls win, maybe the greatest performance by a player in league history

quote:

Averaging 41 ppg in the 93 Finals while also submitting his typical legendary defense and basically carrying the Bulls the final 3 games of that series as both Horace Grant and Cartwright disappeared

The point where he rallied the Toon Squad from being down so many points that the scoreboard stopped counting them.

He also did it despite at least one Toon Squad player literally being murdered on the court without a foul being called.
