Of course they were, because we all know that LHSAA refs are professionals at what they do.

There is nothing worse that a local-yokel homer doing a HIGH SCHOOL broadcast. He should apologize on the air today for acting like an arse on the radio. That station/group of stations strives for professionalism and I think he crossed the line.

no excuse for maybe the biggest game in BR to not have the best available refs

He went absolutely nuts and was out of control during and after Pveiws last drive. Ive never heard anything like that while following High School athletics in my 40+ years.

He said "he did not care if he was reprimanded".

However, PBS runs one hell of a football program. I'd like to see PBS build a lacrosse team-that team could dominate.

Please never say this ever again.

this was actually the topic of conversation at the coffee shop i go to every morning .. i didn't listen on the radio, but apparently a number of the guys in there did and were all saying that they have never, ever heard any play by play like that on radio .. they were all talking about how, even though it was just a high school game, moscona shouldn't be doing play by play anymore .. what in the hell did he do to piss so many people off last night ?

Now that I've had a night to digest the product on the field... What a game!

Also, I have tremendous respect for Parkview's program and would love to play them every single year.

Over the top homerism toward Catholic...unprofessional presentation of the facts of the game...and he threw out the phrase "screw job by the refs" at one point.

I think Gordy pulls him aside and tells him to calm his arse down or his next play-by-play job will be tape delay broadcasts of Walker High girls basketball as part of a Jon Fine Sports Production...

I was there. The officiating was awful. However, it was not completely one sided. It was much more incompetence than maliciousness. Catholic definitely got hosed more than PBS, but PBS got their's as well.

The sideline judge on Catholic's side should never officiate a high school game again . . .he was that bad. The majority of poor calls came from his side. CHS's coaches had to nearly go to midfield to call a timeout because of his inattentiveness at one point.

The shame of it is that it was a great game and it was marred by poor officiating.

The only issue I would have with onesidedness is in regards to unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Both teams were jawing heavily and the only flags thrown were on Catholic (two, both on third and medium to long.) On the next drive, a PBS lineman literally stood over a CHS defender and yelled in his face waving his hands and the sideline official(the terrible one) ran right by him with his flag in his pocket.

1. first possesion CHS should have had 2 personal fouls.. ask any kid that was in meeting called by refs..
2. illegal pick on long pass play.
3. it was PI on 4th down on last drive or least holding...
4. on the 4th down PI call on PBS.. that was not PI....
5.breaking the huddle with 12 is illegal substitution.
6. offsides on one blocked extra point.
7. offsides on on sides kick
8. TWICE catholic coach was so far on field he was at hashmarks. no flag..hmmmm
9. 3 PBS ballcarriers down out of bounds late hit no flag.
10. Last CHS drive officials are HURRYING to spot the ball and give ready for play... official mechanics are do it at same pace regardless of time...
11. you will see that crew work far more CHS games than they will PBS games... enough said.

WOW, I think you have just proven that you have no life. Did you write all that down during the game?

So pretty much everything that Catholic did should have been a penalty, gotcha. It was a great game with poor officiating for both sides, but you just made up most of that stuff.

It was defensive holding, not PI. The PBS cb was in cover one on CHS's TE on a fade route. The CB grabbed a handful of jersey after getting beat. That was one of the few correct calls.
