That program was so dominate for so long. I was lucky enough to see Texas vs. LaTech in Ruston when I was a about 10. The place was packed and was rocking.

They should go independent again and rebuild the program.

Should have been there a long time ago. It's a shame that ELITE program slid like it did. And make no mistake about it - they were a top 3 program in women's basketball for years

Big programs putting money in women's basketball doomed Tech before she got there

nah

Tech is to women's basketball as Wichita State is to college baseball. casualty of bigger programs investing the money to improve their programs and the little guy unable to keep up

Lady Techster basketball is nowhere near the level of Wichita State right now. Wichita state is a perfect example of what Louisiana Tech COULD be with Kim Mulkey. A program that consistently wins the conference and makes the tournament every year and makes a nice run in the tournament every few years. Tech is struggling to compete in its conference and hasn't been to the NCAA tournament in years.

WSU BASEBALL. It's very similar. WSU baseball hasn't been to the postseason officially since '09. Tech isn't alone in their WBB fate, same thing happened to Old Dominion.

Crazy part was Mulkey wanted the Tech job bad and didn’t get the offer. Don’t blame her for going on to bigger and better things. Another example of bad decisions by previous AD’s. Maybe our current guy will learn but after the Tyler Summit debacle I’m not sure.

She got the offer, but they would not give her the number of years she wanted so she left.

They could have never afforded her in the long run.

Mulkey's salary at Baylor:$1 million.

Current LA Tech football coach Skip Holtz's salary: $500,000.

Hiring a 24 year old guy to coach a college women's sport. Who could have possibly expected that to go wrong?

Tech chose football over the Lady Techsters, the one sport I ever cheered for at Tech. Their games against NLU in the early to mid 80s were awesome!

I think Skip gets $700K+ now but point stands.

Stoehr is getting ~$240K I think? Its been a while since seeing the number. It might be a little more than that.
