Watching the 30 for 30 on the Buffalo Bills losing 4 straight Super Bowls
This is depressing and I can’t imagine how those players and fans felt going through that not to win one Super Bowl.

Makes you wonder what happens if they win that first one against the Giants. Do they go on a run and win 3 out of 4? Is there a hangover and they don’t get back at all? I was pretty young in the early 90s and tend to think they were just overmatched vs the Cowboys teams but there definitely seemed to be a mental block at some point

The Cowboys performance in SB 27 is one of the most dominant performances I have seen. Buffalo took early momentum with a blocked punt and a Thurman TD. The Cowboys defense flipped a switch.

Dallas slept walked through the first half of 28 and still pulled away with ease.

Bills should have beaten the Giants. That may have setup a more competitive game with the Skins. I also don’t think they would have gone to 4 in a row had they won the first.

My cousins in upstate New York still aren’t over it

You realize how much being a 6-10 year old kid who watches your team lose 4 straight Super Bowls fricks your up for life?

I was a disgruntled 8 year old kid after the Rockets swept the Magic so I can’t imagine losing 4 straight finals lol.

It honestly shaped their outlook in life

Anytime something is going well for them, they are ready for something bad to happen

Yea that is absolutely brutal.

I mean losing a national championship that kicked off an 8 game losing streak to Bama in football as an LSU fan took a toll on me as a fan

The diabolical on Poydras that dreaded night and the 1st weekend in November for those 8 years are some of the most depressing times in my life

Their third run out of the four included a wildcard game with them being down 35-3 to Houston in the third quarter.
Without their starting QB
With their starting RB banged up
Without all world defended Bruce Smith

For all intents and purposes that comeback is the reason you a pro team in Tennessee. Oh that and another fellow named Joseph Edward Lafontaine Montana

Yeah, let’s say they even those games and win 2. They’d be considered one of the great dynasties in NFL history and Kelly would be talked about way more.

With that said, the way those Bills fans welcomed back the kicker at the post game rally was amazing.

A real big play in that first SB was when Bruce Smith sacked Jeff Hostetler for a safety. When you watch the replay he came real close to forcing a fumble by grabbing Hostetler's right wrist but as he was being taken down Hostetler got both his hands on the ball. It's pretty crazy he didn't fumble. If he had fumbled in the end zone and the Bills recover they would have gone up 17-3 instead of 12-3 at the time.

And it sure would have ruined the Giants ball control gameplan on offense.

Worse than watching your team blow a 28-3 lead with 18 minutes to go in the Super Bowl?

Wife is from Jamestown not far from Buffalo. Grew up a Bills fan and loves the Bills as did all of her friends and family. Tremendous dissapointment in not winning one of them but the loss to the Giants is as painful as the other 3 losses together. They thought they had that game when Norwood lined up.

We have Bills shite around the house and nothing else. I gave her a Jim Kelly autographed football helmet about 10 years ago and it sits in the study most of the year. Image: https://i.imgur.com/j2L8gpq.jpg

It moves into the living room during football season. Good for her. I have never and will never have that kind of committment to a professional sports team. Bills fans have it in spades.

no. they were never beating the Cowboys. If Jerry hadn't run off JJ, the cowboys might have gotten 4 in a row though.

With the exception of the Giants, the Bills weren’t better than the other 2 teams they played in those Super Bowls, the outcomes occurred basically as they logically should’ve subsequently.
