What happened to Wiggins? I thought he was a superstar in the making?

If only we had a thread about NBA trades

I don’t like sifting through a bunch of pages to discuss one thing. I prefer separate threads for separate trades TBH...

Seems like a great deal for the warriors. Russel is obviously a problem, it will be his 4th team in 5 years. Curry will make Wiggins a Star, AND they get a 1st round pick

As a Wolves fan, I've never laughed harder at a take.
3 more years, 94.7M for Wiggins to hopefully be a better Harrison Barnes-- mind, he won't be.
The pick they get is protected if the Russell thing craters for MN, and they only get a 2nd out of it beyond that.
Russell isn't a problem. He just wasn't a fit. He'd still be with the Nets, if they had the flexibility to fit his salary and still attract the FA they wanted to get last year.
In the end, for GS, this works out to turning KD's departure into Wiggins, a protected 1st, and a 2nd- yeah, its better than nothing, but it comes with an awful number that's going to be nearly impossible to move for a year or two.

if he tries to get in the paint help defense takes the ball from him.
Hes unable to control the ball because he stands tall.
He never learned to get low vs smaller guys.
Gifted athlete.
He may learn in practice vs serious gsw defenders.
Needs summer school.
His game is limited.
Will be interesting if in off season works out with klay.
At least gsw gets lottery pick.

nope.
The first is unprotected the next season.

No guarantees there, at all.
Minnesota picked up some decent bench pieces, will have a Top 5 pick with a season of experience, another likely Top 3 pick this year, and DLo and KAT, and a semi-competent bench to fill out with about 25M in cap space. The advent of that being a 12 to 17 type pick shouldn't be shocking at all, if it comes to pass.

The first doesn't happen until the Summer of 2021, not 2020.
It becomes unprotected in 2022. By then, if the DLo situation craters, Minnesota will still have their first in 2020, the Nets' 1st in 2020, the chance at retaining their 2021 pick if it's Top 3, and can be well on their way to moving beyond the DLo experiment by then.
If it was this year, deferred to next year, then yes. It isn't though.

Yay! Something exciting potentially happening with the Wolves. And maybe KAT won’t be a bitch
