But you have random message board posters posting their support of him and saying it was no big deal.

As with most things, this is the problem here. You can on the one hand think that this is being blown WAY out of proportion AND not "support" the douche that pushed a player.

Let's all take a breath for a second. Some old a-hole lightly pushed a guy that could toss him around like a fricking rag doll. It was s shitty move and was clearly done out of frustration, etc. But the guy didn't slip on brass knuckles before bashing Lowry in the jaw. He pushed him in the shoulder. Unless you're a fan generally of one size fits all punishments, them YES what actually happened ought to be under consideration before going apeshit about this incident.

There should be repercussions for the fan...100%. but can we stop pretending that unless this guy is sacrificed from the rafters of Oracle before Game 4 all players are now fair game for being assaulted?

Not to mention...why not address the REAL reason this is even possible? Fans sitting on the fricking court! You want to protect fans and players alike and make sure there is no way for this to happen again...create a buffer between fans and players so that players can't end up in the stands like a foul ball and fans won't feel as if they can reach out and literally touch a player.

Hey, there's no need for rational posts here!

For real though, I think you hit the nail on the head. The guy was a douche and deserves to be punished, but he also shouldn't be hung from the rafters to appease the angry mob.

That's the thing...when EVERYTHING is the worst thing that's ever happened, we collectively lose our ability to rationally think about things. You've got LeBron, who is by all accounts a fricking giant of a man suggesting we need to protect players! From whom? That little dick weed that pushed Lowry? Was Lowry in danger? Of course not...and all the slippery slope arguments to the contrary don;t change the fact.

Occasionally, you have a douche who does a douche thing that doesn't hurt anyone and no real harm is done. Point it out, deal with it and move the frick on.

Anybody catch the headline changes today?

Went from "Minority owner pushes....." to "investor pushes...".

The NBA and Warriors have banned Warriors investor Mark Stevens from NBA games for one year and fined him $500,000 for altercation with Raptors All-Star Kyle Lowry.

The word got out to use "investor" instead of "part/minority owner".

Journalists are such cucks. Seriously.

Anyone too dumb to recognize what minority/part owner means should get off the internet.

What does Lebron have to do with a GS part owner getting banned?

Is this a LeCommissioner joke I'm missing?

But if you post such a thing, shell will only react to half of your opinion because he is an idiot.

Biggest overreaction in the world.

The guy shoulda kept his hands to himself, no doubt about that.

What's getting lost is what the guy actually did, which is in the heat of the moment he gave him a weak little one armed baby push on the shoulder. Had Lowry not been looking at him and seen it I doubt he ever would gave noticed.

People are acting like this guy punched him in the face while yelling the N word.

You don't touch people, and especially touching an athlete on the sports field/diamond/court.

How hard is it for you tards to figure this out? This is the 3rd or 4th incident of courtside fans trying to start/stir shite up and being handsy.

pretty bad look for a team when your billionaire partner can’t keep his hands to himself. Lowry did nothing wrong, it’s pretty ridiculous for any member of the crowd to put aggressively put his hands on him.

This.

You act like that when you are wealthy enough to sit courtside at the Finals? Real a-hole.

He tried to physically assault a man who was just doing his job.

Worst attempt I've ever seen at "assault"

I'm fine with the guy getting punished because he initiated the incident with no good reason to and also to send a message to everyone else courtside to keep their hands to themselves.

I'm just pointing out the severity of the incident is extremely tame given the attention it's getting.
