I miss when roughing the passer was only when they hit the QB 3 seconds after he threw it

That was hilarious. Thanks for posting.

overreacting and calls going the other way and getting more lenient after this Clay Matthews controversy WILL get a quarterback hurt, i guarantee it

Or defenders getting hurt by being forced to pull-up beyond normal human ligament reaction.
Oh wait, that's already happened.
And frick the QBs, don't go out for football if you don't want to get hit.
Montana wasn't crying about it, Marino...they managed not to be on IR every year despite LT coming after them you big babies.

Did this come from a Facebook meme page?

QBs need to get rid of the ball quicker if they don’t want to get hit

This is football. I guarantee a QB is going to get hurt regardless.

The obsession with protecting the QB from getting hurt is a cancer.
I don't give a shite about QB's getting hurt, any more than I care about any other position getting hurt.
Stop begin so god damn gay for the quarterback.

And you can guarantee that QBs will get hurt if we go back to the old rule? Well I can guarantee that QBs will get hurt under this rule. QBs will get hurt regardless of which rule we have in place. So where does that leave us?

I can also guarantee at least one defensive player will tear an ACL directly because of the new rule.

I can guarantee that it will make the game less fun to watch.

How has the stiff arm not been banned as well.
That play last night and in general the stiff arm is one of the most dangerous plays in football.
It gives an offensive player the freedom to hit someone in the neck area.
It's no different than calling a defensive lineman for shoving the neck area of an olineman.
It's not much different than a face mask penalty.

spearing was legal until 1971
grabbing the facemask was legal for 20 years after they were introduced and widely used.
the game has to evolve.
