Due to the risk of severe weather, tonight’s Maulers - Bandits game has been rescheduled to ensure the safety of our players & fans.
A rescheduled date & start time will be released later tonight.
Fans holding tickets for today’s games will be given a ticket to a future date.
"Let's hold all season games in the same city. What could go wrong?"

Better football

Bad football is better than no football at all!

The football hasn't been that bad.

There really isn't a chance for severe weather tonight so I think they probably moved the game because everything was pushed back by the rain delay during the first game, they knew it was going to rain tonight and maybe they could draw some fans with nice weather tomorrow.

Yea i've been surprised with the quality of play overall for the opening weekend. It has been light years better than the XFL.

Seeing as they have Fox and NBC covering the games on flagship channels with fairly strong crews and graphics, I think the USFL knows what it's doing.
This league seems to have been tapped by the NFL and will likely be allowed to survive while the XFL will be crushed once again.
Did you notice how that lawsuit from the original USFL just got swept away? This league is the chosen one in regards to spring / minor league football.
Well it is a rebranded version of the Spring League which the NFL has used a minor league since 2017.

The games have been GREAT so far. Every winner has been decided within the last two minutes of the game.
Game Endings:
28-24 Birmingham scored the game winning TD with 29 seconds on the clock to defeat New Jersey
17-12 Houston - Michigan WR catches pass from Shea Patterson in end-zone with 9 seconds remaining but only got one foot down. Also had an offensive penalty but it was still a last second win
23-17 New Orleans scored the go-ahead TD with 14:59 in the 4th quarter. It remained that way until the end. New Orleans was driving but Philadelphia was on the verge of stopping them on 3rd and 2 when Sloter drew DL Barnett offsides to essentially end the game with 1:49 left.

I would have expected at least a couple of thousand people to show up. Guess I enjoy going to sporting events more than most people. If I lived in Birmingham, I would definitely have driven to watch the game after work, especially if I worked downtown. Looks like maybe 40 people there.

USFL management probably should have paid people to fill some seats. It’s embarrassing every time you see the stands.

Aren’t all the games in Birmingham? The only time I’d expect to see a decent amount of people is when the Stallions play.
Posted on 4/18/22 at 6:22 pm to xenythx
Yeah I really hope they start filling the seats. I think this past Sunday it was tough cause of Easter and today being a weekday. It’s just not like the NFL yet, need to build a fanbase but this weekend is fantastic weather in Bham so should be more filled.

I agree, but you would think there would be at least a couple of thousand at each game. Just a different era I guess. People don't attend sporting events as much as they did when I was growing up.
