USC is back into the top 10 in recruiting!

The fact that they kept Helton to ensure a class this bad is mind boggling.

President Folt made a major miscalculation.
Folks were offering to put up the buyout money to fire Helton.
She did not want the look a big donor having influence as that had caused a lot of issues previous. A big donor (Wayne Hughes) is the only reason Lynn Swann was AD. She also worried how it looked to be spending 8 figures on top of what USC is spending on three different scandals.
She screwed up as this will cost USC far more in the long run both in losing the PR of a strong program and football revenue. Ticket sales are in the basement. Too much competition in LA for ticket sales and ad dollars for it flow to an inferior product.
