USA hoops loses to Serbia. Finish 7th

Serbs went up 32 to 7, end of q1.
A couple of usa "gunners" went 1 for 6 from the field for the game.
Mitchell 4 for 12.

It's so hard to tell what's satire nowadays. Jordan quit USA basketball after the 92 Olympics and skipped the 94 World Championships and 96 Olympics.
Stars have never been clamoring to play in non-Olympic events. Also, the world around us is much better than it was. When we send our 5th stringers like this time, we get results like this one.
Other countries have a built in advantage. The real drawback is that for NBA players, national play extends what's already a really long season. Euroleague is a 30 game season vs 82.

Our stars just don’t play in this shite because it’s irrelevant. It’s not even on actual TV here. I’m sure next year AD, Zion, Harden, Westbrook, Curry etc will play.

And the rotation guys don't. So most of the other teams have rested players who have much more time to practice together.

I think a big, huge advantage the European players have is that they are used to playing with no defensive 3 second rule. That means a big can camp in the paint as long as they want.
That is a huge difference between FIBA and the NBA. The Euro players are used to having to score in other ways whereas the Americans aren’t. The Americans aren’t used to having a center under the rim at all times.
It’s one reason why Giannis hasn’t been very effective for Greece. He can’t shoot. He scores almost exclusively at the rim and the free throw line. With a big parked in the paint, he can’t get his usual shots, and he doesn’t know how to do anything else.
