Neither Lloyd nor Rapinoe started that game.
From what I saw, they just looked... sluggish. Not a lot of off-the-ball movement, players not finding open spaces, a lot of poor decisions with and without the ball, etc.
I may be wrong, but I tend to chalk this up to just having a bad day at the office.

The old guard is not going to get out of the way for the young blood because for them this is how they make a living, it's their job. You can expect the same thing to start happening to USA Women's hockey since both of these teams have become professional. Now it's not about the best players it's about seniority.
