I think Pennetta is going to give Sharapova a run for her money today

This is how I see it playing out(both draws) for the top seeds(through the 4th).

Men's Draw:
(1)Djokovic will struggle(drop 1 set) against Davydenko, but he will move forward to play (22)Dolgopolov who will cruise until his match up with Djokovic where he will lose.

(9)Berdych will take out (20)Tipsarevic and face Ferrero in the 4th. I think (9) Berdych wins that one also.

(3)Federer dropping (27)Cilic in 3 sets, and walking right over Haas in the 4th.

(11)Tsonga beats (19)Verdasco in 4 sets, and plays (8)Fish where he will lose as (8) Fish goes on to a great Open.

(28)Isner will make it to the 4th easily, but he will lose to (18)Del Potro who dominates in the 2nd and struggles in the 3rd against (12)Simon.

(4)Murray will face (25)Lopez in the 3rd. (4) Murray will then play (14)Wawrinka who defeated (24)Chela in the 3rd.

(21)Roddick will cruise into the 4th where he will face (5)Ferrer and actually win this.

(2)Nadal will walk into the 3rd against (30)Ljubicic and just make you think Rafa can win this championship. Whereas (17)Melzer will be waiting in the 4th to give him no fight.

Women's Draw:

(1)Wozniacki will make it through the 4th by (15)Kuznetsova who she will struggle against(dropping a set).

(10)Petkovic will cake walk into the the Qtrs.

(4)Azarenka will get destroyed against (28)Williams who will then make (16)Ivanovic look like she should play juniors.

(11)Jankovic will get past (17)Pavlyuchenkova, but will falter against (7)Schiavone.

(19)Goerges will upset (13)Peng, and make it into the 4th. However, she will play (3)Sharapova who will come off of a beating against (26)Pennetta.

(9)Stosur will defeat (25)Kirilenko in the 4th.

(22)Lisicki will move on and kill (2)Zvonareva

My boy Delpo is beasting today. He could go pretty far if he catches fire. He probably has more upside on this surface than everyone other than Djokovic right now

Yep. His record against Murray is pretty bad, but most of those losses came before he hit his peak level in 09. They haven't played since he's returned from injury. Seems like Delpo should be able to blast him off the court though if he channels his 2009 USO level of play

'09 and he kills Murray. If he stuggles to get that power down I think Murray can hold him.

Interesting comments from Nadal's Uncle Toni today:

quote:

"Djokovic is better than us." he said. "We only have a problem against Djokovic, [but] a problem is when you die."

It's rare to have such candidness from a coach, but the elder Nadal is completely transparent.

"[Djokovic] runs better; his mentality is stronger; and he has changed little things in his game," Nadal said. "He's playing without many mistakes. He is more compact. Before, Djokovic was a wonderful player, but sometimes he made some mistakes. Now the head is very, very strong. [Rafa] thinks he is the best player in the world right now."

As Toni said, the players are younger and Rafa is getting older.

"I don’t know how many years he can stay at the top," he said. "This is the seventh year that Rafael is at the top, one-two-or-three in the world. How many years more? I don't know. In a few years, Rafa won't be active."

Sounds like he won't play until he's 30 like Federer is doing

Now she's trying to make it interesting and get my hopes up, a la Cubs, LSU and Saints before dominance days. Ugh.

Yes nice to look at.

And she is serving to stay in the match. 4-5 in the 3rd. She just double-faulted for the 197,768,473rd time this match. (and another right on cue)
