Sorry the laptop died right before the fight started so I couldn't respond. My friend has a bookie sight that he was piling on and reading me the lines

why all the hate for this dude on this board?

I like him but people get pissed because he literally took 2-3 fights off when he could have just finished them in the first round. Just lolly-gaged around for 5 rounds.

Silva vs. Leites
Silva vs. Cote
Silva vs. Maia

He really fricked off big time. I didn't have a problem with it because they(UFC) should have known better

I want to hear some douchebag boxer say he can stand with An Silva now. No way anyone can defend that shite.

by douchebag boxer do you mean a) all boxers are douches and couldn't stand with silva or b) shitty boxers running their mouths?

oh, I've been praising the guy for a year now, but he just impresses me more and more everytime I see/hear from him. he speaks well, he's humble, he actually has a personality....I'll be pulling for this guy over shogun for sure now. can't wait to see what the future holds for this guy. wish he would've gotten into mma 13 years ago instead of 3.

how long you think some of these brazillians have been doing it? a lot of them grow up with it. shogun has been practicing jiu-jitsi since he was a teenager and he's like 30 now.

just did a quick search, and some claims rua started BJJ when he was 6. think how sick jones would be with another couple years of experience....or a whole decade under his belt.

Just boxers running their mouths in general.

It's the same with MMA. Right now Nate Diaz is talking wanting to fight Vargas or Mayorga(sp) Diaz would get fricking pwned in boxing only.

But boxers in general talking about how MMA is gay because they roll around on the ground. A stand up specialist would roll a boxer standing up. There's very few like Silva that could do it but it would happen.

Kenflo just said that GSP walks around at 195.

How much more time would he really need to put on weight?

GSP is ripped to shreds at WW and could certainly put on the weight to fight Silva. If Silva could cut enough, I think a catchweight bout is appropriate to be fair, but otherwise, GSP could easily handle putting on the weight (and pretty much quality weight, he has thick legs and has to cut for WW).

I am not sure GSP really wants to fight Silva all that badly. GSP really really hates to lose and I think is concerned with protecting his legacy. I think the fight happens though.

but not just boxing right?

because I doubt he would roll any contending boxer with just his hands...if you throw in knees, clinch then yeah he'd have a great shot

Bones Jones is pretty cool. He was on Miami radio Thursday night and was fun to listen to. No doubt he will be a great champ soon, I am just not sure if it is too soon to beat Rua. We will find out soon.

BTW, I've been watching MMA since Mark Coleman beat Don Fry in 1995. I love it, but find myself still pulling for guys like Shogun and Belfort tonight because I have watched them so long.
