2018 NFL Draft: SMU wide receiver Trey Quinn has proven this season that he and Courtland Sutton are a dangerous duo, and that he has the best hands in CFB…

The SMU Mustangs football program has been one receiving plenty of attention for their star wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who might have first round potential looking forward to the 2018 NFL Draft. One player that some might not know about at this point, however, is Sutton’s teammate Trey Quinn, who just might have the best hands in all of college football.

Sutton is a big play waiting to happen, catching 11 touchdowns this season while averaging 15.91 yards per reception. He’s now got 30 career touchdown catches (and counting) and will certainly command the attention of NFL scouts, but his big time abilities on one side of the field have really opened things up for Quinn on the other, and he’s showcasing his skills in a big way.

Through 10 games of the college football season, Quinn has hauled in a whopping 96 passes, averaging nearly 10 catches per game. He’s on pace to break the school record of 112 catches in a single season, and is already averaging over 100 yards per contest.

Quinn, a Louisiana native, originally started his college career with LSU. He was a starter as a true freshman for seven games, and finished that year with 17 receptions. After seeing his role diminish the following year, he transferred to SMU and sat out for a season before ultimately getting his shot this season.

This wasn’t a do-or-die opportunity in 2017 for Quinn, who still has a year of eligibility left after this year, but it certainly doesn’t seem like his NFL stock will ever be higher than this. The way he’s playing right now, he looks like he could be a second or third round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Quinn is a very interesting prospect as it deals with the NFL because while many SMU fans are comparing Quinn to another former SMU star Cole Beasley, Quinn has much better size moving on to the next level.

At 6-feet, over 200 pounds, Quinn has the look of the ideal third receiver in the NFL, one that can play inside or outside and be productive to all levels of the field.

This is an exciting receiver prospect who is only going to get better, I think.

If only he would've remembered the fact that he can't see shite without contacts, or actually wore the damn contacts in the first place while he was at LSU, he wouldn't have dropped three passes against Bama and might've actually had a great career in front of crowds larger than 32,000

I believe very early in his freshman year I said on TD that he'd break the LSU all time mark for career receptions.

This is my redemption!!!!

He dropped a fourth and long that would have been a 1st down and given them a chance to beat UCF a few weeks ago.

It happens but they was a bad pass to drop

And he is still not the best player at his own position at his own school.

But then again he’s also lucky to have nations best at his position helping him.

This guy brings his lunch pale to practice every day

He's a coach on the field

If every player on the field had the heart of Trey Quinn we'd never lose a damn game
