That means no pels fans and no rockets fans

Here are some facts I found interesting

Warriors shot 27 free throws to the Pels 9

The pels had more paint and fastbreak points

The warriors had more turnovers

AD and Jrue had zero free throws attempted

Some other fact gathering pieces I have seen on twitter

quote:

Anthony Davis has taken four free throws in the series, the same total as Warriors guard Quinn Cook, who didn’t even play in Game 2

quote:

Since 2015, a player has played 40+ minutes, attempted 20+ FGAs, and received 0 FTAs 5 times. 4 of those 5 happened to Pelicans players, two of them coming last night, and the most recent occurrence being Moore vs Houston earlier this season.

quote:

A player has put up 24 FG attempts and shot zero free throws in 19 of the 319 instances this season in the NBA.

The Pels had two just last night

That stats show New Orleans as 3rd best adjust foul rate. (Fouls per play). 9th in fouls per game.

Warriors 21st in the nba in ft/att per game.

on paper something doesnt add up,, but still:
Blame shifting

That's not very interesting.

What's this have to do with officiating?

Usually the team with more paint points attempt more free throws

As well as the team that is sloppier with the ball usually commits more fouls

They're always bad for the most part. I watched the Cavs game 7 and I saw a travel and 2 offensive fouls on one possession, none were called. A few minutes later they gave Mules Turner his 6th foul for getting tangled up going for a rebound under the basket.

I didnt sit down and watch every second of the games last night, but I want to tally every obviously bad call in a game. I'm guessing it's going to be over 25 instances.

I haven't watched AD play a lot and didn't get to watch the game last night, but what's his inside game like? Lots of post ups?

And unfortunately, teams that have the reputation as a defensive power typically get the benefit of the calls. Like a control pitcher having a wider strike zone.

I'd say committing more turnovers means the other team was being more aggressive.

Or they got those points in the paint because it's what they were giving them.

Chris Webber count? He thought the calls were slanted towards GS last night.

I would say yes, since Weber was on the team that had the biggest screw job in nba history.

That kings-lakers series is the series that every pundit and fan agrees was rigged

What's your actual take on the game last night, not the general thoughts on fouls?

I would think if anyone had a good feel for the NBA Officiating dicking them over, it'd be him.

One explanation for the difference in fast break points is that the Pels were not giving up layups on the fast break... they were intentionally fouling instead.

Which also added to the free throw numbers.

I would say it was more than that but I don’t have any numbers to go on.

I’m not neutral but I don’t care.

With the way the pelicans attack they should have gotten to the line more. I do agree with the poster above that the pelicans fouled to avoid giving up layups, which boosted what otherwise might be a low foul game in general. But they still should have gotten to the line more with that style of play.

Draymond should also have been out of the game. That play where he held on to AD, went dead weight to drag him down, then proceeded to intentionally tangle for 5 seconds was absolutely ridiculous. I like a guy that brings energy and can get in the other teams head but that was a dangerous play that simply shouldn’t be tolerated.

All in all the Pels played really tough and didn’t back down even though it seemed like everything was going against them once Curry walked on the court.

The problem is that nowadays people complain about officiating during literally every game. Nobody seems to think their teams actually lose anymore, it’s always blamed on someone else. This of course means that when there are games wth real complaints (last night) most people just look at it as being a sore loser. If that card didn’t get played all the time I think we’d all be more inclined to listen to the complaints. So ya, the stats look fishy, but I don’t care

Another interesting fact

AD, who is 4th in the NBA at free throws attempted per game, was guarded by Draymond green most of the night, who is 29th in the nba at fouls per game

AD shot zero free throws

Because, for the most part, they're bad.
