This is the worst freaking penalty I’ve ever seen in my life

Dolphins had a clean sack on Mac Jones. Ball was still in his hands. Clean tackle.
15 yard penalty on Miami that directly lead to a bullshite Patriots TD.

Its by the book a penalty. You can't just hit a quarterback low, even in the course of a normal football play or move. You can esssentially only legally touch them between the shoulder pads and waist.

I think it’s because he went for the knees. I agree it’s harsh but I’ve seen much more egregious calls.

Intent doesn't matter here.
He connected at the knee, so it's a penalty.
The RP on Winston was more questionable. Only way I can see that being called is if the defender's feet left the ground before the hit. But that's incredibly iffy.

Yeah really felt like we shoulda had it but can’t win with fumbles and field goals, props to the yall for stepping up in the redzone. Should be a fun AFC East/ wildcard race this year

AS a Saints fan, the only way I can see that being a penalty is if his feet left the ground before contact and they determined he "launched".
But I really want to see the league statement on that call.

Recognize he can't make legal contact with the quarterback on that play, and attempt to avoid it.
