And I assume since we are in August, both games will be 7 innings, which is wild to me. It fundamentally changes the game—similar to starting the 10th and on with a runner on 2nd—which is cool in the craziness that is 2020, but still seems bizarre.

Speaking of those 2 new rules, I’m assuming if these games are tied after 7, the runner starts to open the 8th now? Haven’t seen the rule written out, but surely it says “extra innings,” rather than specifying the “10th inning,” no?
