Killing the quality of the game and the competitiveness. This is worse than 2King a bunch of trades.

Teams at the bottom- ala my Orlando Magic. RIP- will never be able to succeed under these conditions. They might as well shut it down and make it a 16 team league.

I'm on the verge of dropping the NBA and picking up hockey as my 1st professional sport. Baseball coming on strong 2nd. It's just unheard of the way the quality of the league has plummeted.

It's nice to watch greatness. It's also nice to see competitive games.

The bottom of the league is better than it was during the 90's, expecially after the expansion.

I loved basketball up to last season. It's just bland to me. It's ironic because I love baseball, but basketball bores me.

Silver said he had no problem with super teams. I hope he gets a sweep shoved up his rear.

The worry about GSW dominating for five years is overstated, with all of the money issues they are going to have to decide. Plus, other teams will load up themselves.

I don't know if I trust the integrity of the league and the officials enough to believe this isn't a 7 game series.

Lebron ruined the NBA when he ran off to Miami to form the first superteam.

LeBron's Miami teams were the weakest of any of the NBA superteams.

The GSW decline will be 100% self inflicted. No team can load up in a way that GS did. It took a once in a lifetime bargain with Curry and a huge cap increase to get Durant. No one can do that again.

ETA - The idea that someone can build a team to beat them is hilarious. You just have to wait until they're tired of the luxury tax.

The Pelicans or the Magic won't be loading up. They might get a piece or two but eventually, unless they just don't care about championships...they leave to be with their buddies.

The only alternative is to tank, hope you hit on a couple top 5 picks for 2-3 years and then ball out with youngins. Unfortunately, that's where the majority of the teams at the bottom are.

Unless you're like the Magic and can't even tank right, you get a lower pick than your finish.

If you look at the NBA since the Jordan era, there has not been a team with a run of dominance for more than five consecutive years. The Kobe-Shaq Lakers made four Finals appearances from 2000-2004. Than they broke up and were mediocre for three years before building another championship contending team. The Spurs win three championships from 2003-2007 and then they go six years without making another Finals appearance. The Big Three Celtics were really good for five years (2008-2012) and then they were done.

You're on the right track. There are too many times. Everyone knows contraction is a major need to improve quality of games, but the NBA isn't going to care as long as they're profitable. They're trying to make money, not give us quality games.

A team that was only the #1 seed once, IIRC, and lost 2 of 4 Finals ruined the league? They were taken to 7 games multiple times in the Eastern conference playoffs.

Meanwhile, GS won 73 games last year, added Durant, and have won 30 of 31 games.

Which one ruined the NBA?

There's been like three...two involved in this game.

Cavs, Heat, GSW...who am I missing? I wouldn't classify the Celtics as a superteam...all their players were either drafted or acquired through trade.

Clips don't qualify.
