Terrible football. There’s just no defense being played.

Some are ok. Some are horrible to watch. Dudes shouldn't take a handoff and run thirty yards untouched over and over. Texas d makes last years LSU d look like the 85 bears.

FWIW I think the offensive fireworks is fun if you’re just watching, sucks if it’s your team playing defense

Defense has been regulated out of existence.

Depends on your definition of good football. The game has evolved tremendously in the last 20 years. These games are really entertaining, and when they’re competitive, even more so. I understand questioning it, but I prefer it to “three yards and a cloud of dust”. What made that good football?

sure, the up and down stuff can be entertaining, but it can also be a joke.

there would be games in big12, where the last person with the ball would be winner, or your defense only had to make 1-2 stops in the game to win.

Once everyone went to a hurry up, it caused all dcoord to go to smaller, athletic dl, who could stay on the field. Which is why big12 schools would get rolled by power rushing schools. There has been some change, but it's still the same ole last one to score big12 conference

It is what it is

old school people who valued honor, courage, grit, and toughness

Not to mention the fields they played on were swamps and the game was based basically in the Northeast and the Midwest

I'd much rather see an extremely physical, well executed 24-21 type game than 3 punts total in a game.

these horse shite targeting rules needs to be fixed.

the severity of the rule isn't always on point and the person who signed off on it can die in a fire.

There's a happy medium. 10-7 is not ideal either.

But goddamn the Ole Miss/Arkansas game. 3 touchdowns in the final like 80 seconds? And not just touchdowns--EASY untouched touchdowns. That's just too much.

It’s also very tough to play defense when 50/50 jump balls are defensive PI 75% of the time, and almost any attempt to jar the ball from a receiver has a good chance of being called for targeting.

I hate this type of football where scores in the 40s are the norm, and in the NFL, 4000 yards passing is the norm.

and when there is hand checking going on on both sides I think the official shouldn't throw a flag. We don't know what the officials are told to look for or the differences in crews.

I wouldn't want to be a ref in college or pro ball.

sometimes replay makes up for mistakes but still.

I agree. Unfortunately, as mentioned, recent rules changes in the name of player safety and other things have made it really difficult to play effective defense.

Why are you just singling out the big12? This shite is happening everywhere. Did you miss the Arky/OM game?
