Good read and a near replica of the article Jesse Temple wrote in The Athletic about the Wisconsin OL and Red Robin, if anyone is a subscriber.

ETA: This OL is dominant, though. Have said it before, but three of these guys were All-Americans last season and a fourth was a Freshman All-American.

So glad I get to live in a place where this isn't considered quality dining. Whenever I go back to visit family in the midwest and their idea of a nice dinner is at Applebee's or something I gag.

OK, let's be clear: very few would claim Red Robin (or Applebee's) as a "fine dining" establishment, especially in a city like Madison that is flocking with techies and considered one of the healthiest cities in the country. Madison is a city of 270,000 and one of the best places to visit if you're a CFB fan. Downtown (Capitol Square and State Street) is littered with boutique restaurants and shops. However, these are fricking 315+ pound linemen that, understandably, eat cheap and keep fat.

Madison is easily the exception when it comes to midwest dining and I'm pretty sure you know that.

ETA: yes I have been there before. It's great.

Red Robin is far from fine dining but it has a younger vibe. Overall its really nondescript. I think there are 2 locations in Madison. For a young lifestyle- its serviceable.

As these guys get older they will appreciate the best authentic dining experience in the Wisconsin: the Supper Clubs.

Cocktails, soup, salad bar, cheese spread, cocktails, warm fresh bread, loaded hash browns with fish on fridays or prime rib on saturdays.
