You're right your principals principles are making LHSAA SuperDome,Championships insignificant, effectively ruining one of the best venues in high school football. The money will dry up and what was used to promote non revenue events won't be available any longer.
Did anyone consider enforcing rules to male sure of a level playing field. This reminds me of little league banning Asian teams years ago. Any title afterwards was tainted, as is the case now.
The 1976 game Jesuit 7 Winfield 0 I guess you want overturned as well.

I have brought up this point on this board before.
Pointing out that the rules concerning residency and zoning didn't apply to select schools as they did for non-select. I was told by many select school supporters that public schools get caught up in recruiting violations far more than selects.
I watched every game this year in the dome.
If all the teams that played each other in their class or division followed the same rules to get there, I'm all for it.
Why is giving four more teams of kids a chance to be a state champion wrong? The bottom line is this should be about the kids, not the schools, the coaches or the principals.

Why stop there? Why not 10 games, or 12?
Well here are some reasons: 9 games. 5 blowouts. 3 games decided by less than 2 touchdowns. 2 games decided by less than 10 points. State games were boring and anti climactic.

By definition this mean they weren't one of the two best teams in the State which means they had NO business playing for a State championship.
Why have different classes? Why not have everybody play in one division and that way we can have a true champion.

Absolutely true.

You mean like an FA Cup for HS football?
That would be awesome. Just one massive tournament.

It was such an awesome idea that every single school that was being segregated out voted against it.
There may not be a better example of "tyranny of the majority" than the vote on Proposal 18.
I have heard that there will be a push in January to reunite 4A and 5A which is a good start to rectifying this nonsense. 1A through 3A would remain split.

They have to do something about DI. A 10 team "state champion" is a joke.

All of those in Division I would agree.

Griffin made the entire proposal because of Curtis and Evangel. She did no research, complied no data, and could make no substantive arguments in favor of the split. Her testimony to the Senate subcommittee was hilarious and embarrassing at the same time. Her only argument was "it's based on personal experience." She even admitted under oath that the proposal was to get rid of two school.

Make it 4 titles. 2 big 2 small for select/non select. No set attendance number because private schools can manipulate numbers. Just take all enrollment numbers and split them down the middle big/small.

I think if the principals would let Curtis play up to 5A in football only it would all be over with
They would have legit competition and the rest of the classifications would be happy

She carried the torch for Kenny Henderson. If the rest of the state didn't want it and she was the only one then why in the heck did they vote to pass it? The piling on of her is comical. I don't like the split but this is funny how everyone wants to blame one person for something that a bunch of other people obviously wanted and she put it on the table for them to vote for. I think that there should either be one division. Or split it out the way it is with some tweaks because this implementation of it was a travesty.
One true champion! That's what everybody wants right?

False.
Henderson is a ineffectual leader and is in way over his head but he wasn't pushing this.

How would a select school get caught?

Hold backs are still happening-as Choupique said, it's just like 6-7 grade now. Wonder what happens to the one JT guesses wrong on? Processed, like $abin does? Or is that where the 100 kids come from?
ECA isn't the power they once were. I think the Calvary split has diluted their talent, and there are a number of good programs in N. Louisiana that may make going to ECA less attractive than it once was. The problem is Curtis. Pure and simple. Look, we had a pretty good team this year, hung tough for a half, but they wore us down. Here's an example-they would punt-11 brand new kids run unto the field, we MIGHT substitute 2. So most of our starters rarely leave the field. If the first team talent is fairly equal, but they can run waves of reserves in, while your kids never get a breather, what is the resort going to be?
The only fix is to let them play up in football only, but no one wants them. That's how they ended up in 3A-all the little schools and big schools made sure they didn't end up with the bully on their playground. It's a shame that a couple of teams my boys played on might have been one of the top teams in the entire state, but had the misfortune of having to face the consensus best team in the state. It's been a good life's lesson-sometimes things just aren't fair, but you play the hand you're dealt the best you can.

Once again, why were non football schools allowed to vote ?? That's like letting people who don't own property and never plan on owning property to vote on raising property taxes.....

Losers complain and make excuses as to why they are not winners. Winners just win.

What if the winners win by having an unfair advantage?
