I loathe the Redskins and Dan Snyder but honestly, I’d wager that at least 85% of people who actually watch/follow the NFL aren’t offended by the previous name.

Me too. I've noticed DC media are missing the opportunity to just call them "The Team." If they could settle in on that as a nickname, it would make winning, when they finally do, even cooler.

I have said before that I wish they would change their name to the:
Washington Confederate Army.
Then the media explodes saying “you cannot pay respect to such a terrible group of people as the racist southern army”.
Then, change it back to the Redskins and saying we are “just paying respect to them”.
