Can we not fix this? Way too much fluff for the draft to be truly enjoyed. If it wasn't for message board posting in between picks it would be unbearable.

Last night was actually one of the faster drafts too. The normal ones are unbearable

Yeah, they really tried to go as long as possible by piping in as many commercials they could get in.

This. I actually thought it went pretty well from a viewers standpoint.

Let's be real, if the draft weren't for TV, the first round of 32 picks would probably take about 35 minutes.

They used to do all 12 rounds of the draft in a single day I think...before the TV cameras came in.

I kind of disagree with you. I think, for the first round, it makes sense. In a perfect world, they spend 2-3 minutes talking about the player picked, and then spend 7 minutes discussing / predicting the needs and availability of the team on the clock.

You have to leave a little time in case teams want to flesh out trades

They were clearly working on a delay as well. It's expected considering all the moving parts.

That's the only justification I can find for more than a minute time limit on picks.

I don't even understand why there'a a clock for the first pick. Kick this thing off strong by going right into it. Of all teams, the #1 should be ready roll immediately.

It's a show. The goal isn't to finish as fast as possible.

A lot of people are interested in the pick that was made, an evaluation of how good/bad of a pick it was, and the pick that's coming up.

To each their own, but I for one disagree with you.

I didn’t like the broadcast quality and the fact the players didn’t get to go on stage. It didn’t feel like picks were leaking this year (A positive), but I wasn’t looking for it on Twitter.

Last night showed you how pointless so many of the theatrics and optics are for the Draft.

You don’t need all of those people working the phones in front of the stage as if it’s mission control.

First live sports event for almost 2 months and people are complaining about how slow it went by.

I was hoping it would last til midnight.

I noticed some teams Goodell would just read the pick.

For others.. there would be 15 straight minutes of ball-sucking, another Covid-19 relief commercial, then Goodell would announce the pick

No coincidence the others were Green Bay, Seattle, Dallas, etc.

The most important thing is letting all of us know how celebrities are doing in Los Angeles mansions.

You see they have it worse than anyone. Not enough attention. So they crow bar their way into talking points about heroes of tragedy low tier discourse.

I know I feel much better after giving them the attention they need to survive such trying 10 million dollar house times.

Unpopular opinion, but I didn't need a Corona reminder every 5 minutes. Like yes, I get it as I'm literally stuck at home watching this.

The point is stop making it nnecessarily long.

THE frickING PICK IS IN. frickING ANNOUNCE IT. After it's picked, we don't need four extra minutes of:

PERSON 1: I think it's a wide receiver.
PERSON 2: If they go wide receiver, Lamb is the best one available.
PERSON 3: I agree. Lamb is good.
PERSON 4: Yeah, but don't forget about Jeudy
PERSON 5: Yes. Jeudy is good too.
PERSON 6: You're right.
PERSON 7: I think it's Jeudy.
PERSON 8: I Think it's Lamb.

And then the pick is Ruggs.

WHY DO WE NEED ALL THAT shite IF THE PICK HAS ALREADY BEEN MADE?
